Anderson, Scobey, and Travis Prentice will NOT cut it as backup runningbacks.

Krang,

First and foremost I am not defending the Cards draft history, but some people in the organization who have devoted their entire LIVES to football and sniffing out talent feel they will. I kinda think these people know more about the game and who will fit into the system they are trying to implement than any of us ever will, so I got to go with what they see in them. They don't just cut them checks because the cheerleaders pay is already maxed out.

As I said before, the point of discussing whether or not Smith will suffice as backup is moot. He isn't coming here and they aren't offering him 9 mil over 3 yrs to back up anyone. He is coming here to start and IMHO it's a waste of money.

The difference between what he can bring to the table vs. what Marcel can isn't worth 9 mil. Especially considering the D-line can't sack an old woman in a wheelchair.

I'm not really sure that we can trust anyone's judgements on players entirely. If we don't add Smith, I would still like for them to bring in a draft pick, or someone else to compete. At least there is options, I won't dispute that! :D

I agree that Smith probably won't sign here, and if he does for 3 million yearly, I won't like it.

Not only will Smith sign with the Cards, but he will have a great year. Both he and Shipp will gain over 1000 yards each and Mac will win coach of the year award.<p>At least, that's what my Ouegee board says.
