I think Thompson is very solid with potential for more growth. I wish Keim would extend him before his contract runs out next season, but he might be too busy paying yet another RB way too much money for past performances.

Budda seems a little overrated to me at this point, but VJ also isn't maximizing his strengths. We are a much better defense with Budda on the field.

Murphy frustrates me, but mostly when he plays on the outside. He is fine in the slot, and he has improved every year. I would have no problem giving him a Rasul Douglas type contract.

I actually loved the Simmons pick, but I am starting to admit that I may have been wrong. I still think he can be a good to great player. Unfortunately, I doubt it will happen in this defense.

Wilson did not impress me last year. I think of him as a future journeyman instead of a core piece. I think a lot of guys could give up 6 TDs and a 120+ QB rating against them like Wilson did last year.

Gladney hasn't played a down for us, so I don't consider him part of the core. The same pretty much goes for Collins.

Overall, I see a few young, solid pieces on this defense, but no stars. And certainly not enough talent to compensate for having Golden as essentially the only pass rusher on the team.

Acting like he’s the first player to do that is strange.
That was just one example.

Can someone please back me up here. Budda throws himself around head first like crazy. He delivers blows with no regard for his own well being.

Im not saying its a bad thing. I love his style of play. All I said is that he might lead the league in self induced concussions.

Anyone that has watched him would say he has little regard for his own safety...which is the way the NFL used to be.

It does seem that way to me although I have no concrete evidence, just an opinion. It seems like he sacrifices his body when attacking a running back, etc.

I would concur that he does occasionally. He goes for the big hit and doesn't wrap up sometimes because of that. I think he's a bit overrated by some but he's a dog for sure.

This board overrates good cardinals players into “all pro” all the time. I don’t think many watch much football outside of the cardinals.
