Nobody should be surprised by this. I don't believe for a second that the Lakers are anywhere close the Suns, but games have consequences. The Suns let the Lakers blow them out in the home opener, and if the Lakers continue to have some early season success, the Suns will have to live with it until the rematch on Christmas day.

Why is this even thread worthy? It was written by a blogger named "J-Dizzle", who comes off sounding like a serious Laker homer. He even goes so far as to imply that Kurt Thomas left on his own free will, when in fact he was traded away for salary cap reasons.

Anything written by someone called "J-Dizzle" probably shouldn't be taken too seriously.

I mean, can you imagine how unsuccessful "Common Sense" would've been with the Colonist if it had been penned by an author named "J-Dizzle"?

I stopped reading it almost immediately. If you made assumptions based on the start of the season last year the Lakers were the best team in the West, the Spurs were mediocre, and Dallas and Phoenix were lottery bound.

My favorite is how he says Kurt Thomas ran from the Suns because he saw a sinking ship.

Let me get this straight.. Kurt supposedly demanded a trade and the Suns traded away a few first rounders to make him happy. Ok....

I'd say something about this but it's not worth it. remember just less than a week ago kobe was on his way out. now they are back on top again. that's lakers basketball for you. man some people put too much stock into the first week of the season. I remember when we had the three J's and we started like 3-0. then we ended up losing a franchise record or something. it's a long ride. and the playoffs are all that really matters anyway. mavs and suns fans know that better than anyone.

Last year's early-season loss to the Lakers annoyed me, but this year I'm getting a kick out of the fan response.

I even visited LakersGround the other day, just to bask in the crazy. ;)

i find it funny that the 30+ year old Kurt would demand a trade from the sinking suns to the sonics that havent won a game yet and are essentially built around a rookie...

You know it would have been the first time in history that the Suns ended up with the first overall pick and they would have selected Oden and had the Twin Microfracture Towers.

The Hornets beat their butts last night. CP3 with 21 assists and Peja with 10 3s. Rising alright....
