There have obviously been about a trillion trade threads already and there will certainly be a bunch more all year, but I hope this one can be a bit more reasonable. D'Antoni is coach/GM and clearly doesnt want to blow up the core (which you have to think includes Marion). One guy everyone knows that doesn't fit D'Antoni's system, and is overpaid, is Marcus Banks. The Suns HAVE to find a way to deal him, this should be their #1 priority after scouting players in the draft in my opinion.
So lets look at some options. Please don't include Marion in this, this is a "hey other team, please take Marcus Banks off our hands" thread, not a "Marion for KG and Duncan in a 3 team deal!" thread, there are plenty of other opportunities for that.
Banks to Atlanta:
Atlanta needs a point guard, if they want to run a half court offense with a somewhat slower tempo than the Suns, Banks could be a good option for them. He's arguably better (or at least healthier) than their combo of Speedy Claxton, Tyron Lue, Royal Ivey and Anthony Johnson.
A banks for Anthony Johnson trade works according to RealGM. Though I'm not sure Johnson would fit the Suns system either, he is a veteran, and he's in his last year of his deal, so its an expiring contract. Phoenix would most likely have to throw in Clevelands pick to make Atlanta take on Banks.
Banks to Orlando
This one is a bit too ridiculous, but Banks for Arroyo works salary wise. But I don't know why Orlanda would do that unless the Suns included both of their late first round picks to do the deal. Arroyo is an expiring contract, so the Suns could either just let him go and save the cash after the season, or resign him if he doesn't completely stink in their system.
I dunno, there aren't many teams that will probably be willing to take Banks' stupid contract, especially since he's still a project. The Suns will probably have to take back an equally silly contract, but hope the player fits their system better than Banks. Or if the Suns can part with their draft picks (history certainly tells us they love doing that) maybe they can ship him.
Any other ideas? I don't really think either of my suggestions are terribly realistic, but Banks is going to be tough to move.
