Good start here for the thunder. Just stay relatively close in the first half.

Could have easily been a foul on haslem, and a tech for the stare down. But coach brooks gets a tech????

******** delay of game there. Haslem did one too but no call. Calls favoring the heat in the first half.

Battier finding his shooting touch is huge for Miami. They'd be down 2-0 in the series and down big in this game without him. He's shooting over 70% from three in The Finals making up for his miserable shooting all year specifically in the first three rounds

There is no player I hate more than James Harden. Biggest flopper in the league

I didn't expect this to be the game OKC took on Miami's court, but they were in it at the end.

I was thinking game 4 to get it back to 2-2, then drop game 5. Kind of similar to the Lakers/Celtics series from a couple of years ago, even though the Lakers won the game 3. I didn't think the Thunder would be ready for a Finals game 3 on the road, while that Lakers team was. I do think the Thunder will be ready for game 4 like crazy, though.

At the same time, Miami shot like garbage all game long and committed 9 turnovers in the 4th. Miami made up for it with awesome free throw shooting.

Both teams have major adjustments to make for Game 4.

Worst 4th quarter I've ever seen OKC play -- they definitely won't come out so lackluster for game 4. Regardless of individual play, the Heat as a team played much more aggressive and won the game with pure hussle. OKC needs to step it up a few dozen notches if they want to win this.

I like James Harden, but I agree with regards to the flopping. He hits the ground every time he shoots and at least 10 other times per game. I think the referees got tired of it because that last blocking call he got against Lebron James was a bad call. I could have easily seen them swallow the whistle there, but if that was a foul on anybody of was clearly Lebron James. They also didn't call the flop on the Harden at the end of game 3, and they gave him this screw you on that one as well because Chalmers flopped the same way about 5 seconds later and drew the foul against harden.

yeah... i kinda think the Thunder take Game 4, setting up a monster Game 5 which Miami takes, Thunder take Game 6 and then it's anyone's guess in Game 7.

This really could be this generation's Laker V. Celtics. Hell, Lebron is a like a new-age Magic, running the team and being the ultimate playmaker while Durant is like a new-age Bird.

That's not to say either of them are as good overall as Magic and Bird, but both have similar games to their counterparts. Lebron's all flash and fun and Durant's the nice kid from the sticks who just balls like a mother. It's been pretty damn fun to watch so far and I think it's just gonna get better.

Am I the only one who hates the NBA Finals 2-3-2 format?

If the team that has earned home court advantage going into the Finals loses one of their first two games at home, the opposing team can win it all without the other team ever returning home. Maybe history does not support this but I believe it gives the team that did not have the home court advantage... an advantage in regards to finishing it off on their home court.

I still believe the 2-2-1-1-1 is the most fair format. It gives both teams a better chance of rebooting.

Doesn't really bother me and does not necessarily benefit the away team. ESPN mentioned that since 1985, when the NBA began the 2-3-2 format, only two teams have ever won all three games consecutively.

Actually, five teams have won the middle 3 games:

1990 Pistons
1991 Bulls
2001 Lakers
2004 Pistons
2006 Heat

i think the stat TJ is referring to is that only 2 HOME TEAMS have won the middle 3 home games.

The interesting question to ask would be what percentage of games have been won by the road team in the 2-3-2 format versus back when the Finals were 2-2-1-1-1. In other words, does the new format increase home-court advantage, or decrease it?

Honestly, the last two games shouldn't have even been close in the last 2 minutes if not for Wade blatantly shaving points. The series is gonna end in Miami, the HEAT just came up with one of their worst offensive displays this season and the Thunder still could not capitalize.

The Pacers and Celtics as a whole were far worse matchups for the HEAT than the Thunder imo. The Thunder don't really have any significant matchup advantages against the HEATs weaknesses at all.

Lebron is better than Magic, I am so tired of people being unable to objectively analyze players and instead overhyping and overrating old legends.

Even if you look at them in context to their era and not overall. Because overall Lebron in the 80s would be even more impressive than he is in the modern age with a much slower pace and better athletes in the league.
