Out of curiosity. How old are you?

You are totally wrong about watching National football. I subscribe to ESPN Gameplan and catch a bunch of games, so maybe you can stop with the insults and make this a discussion. Otherwise, don't bother. You should know that the Comcast Fox Sports plan, in South Florida also carries a slew of west coast games and rerun them all week. So yes , with the aid of my Digital DVDR , I get to watch more than Miami and SEC games. A lot more.

Well they got beaten by Texas and when did they play LSU? I have already said no one in the Big 12 plays defense, including Texas. Texas Tech ran on Texas and they can't run if you ask most people on here. I disagree, but that is a comparison.

As far as the issue of automatically, because I am a Cardinal fan, being very excited, I have watched most Cardinal draft choices through the years turn out to be clunkers. I am still a Cards fan, but I don't take things as automatic. Enjoy your excitement all you want.

BTW, why are you living in Florida anyway? You don't seem to like much about it.

I am really not trying to bust your balls. I'll give you a bio.

I am 27 and am West Coast guy through. I enjoy SEC football and think it is the best conference on a year in and year out basis. The coaching is top notch and obvioulsy the talent pool all throughout the south is awesome.

However I have attended alot of games throughout the South and find the elitist nature of the SEC and Florida fans to be laughable. Most fans are just dismissive of anything played outside the conference and the correlation that because it was done in the SEC automatically makes it better is not something I ascribe to. I beat the USC drum on a daily basis as that is a program I am familiar with and see it taking a back seat to nobody.

I don't doubt you watch alot of games. I do have to questions whether you have watched alot of Beanie Wells.

And they played LSU in last years NC game. He ran for 146 yards and at a 7.3 clip to boot. And that was a team that was renowned for its defense.

As for Florida - I cash my checks out here but will find my way back to the West Coast at some point. Like everywhere it has its pros and cons but its not my cup of tea per se.

Matter of fact I find the sports scene to be terrible. I was listening to local AM this morning and just have to turn it off because the sports guys just plain suck and have little idea about their own teams let alone nationally. Thats why I was listening to DP;)

i still say if Tressel would've kept giving the ball to Wells that they win that game. They fell one score behind and he started throwing the ball all over the place. LSU had zero chance of stopping Wells that game.

I can't help but think this guy is the next Reggie Bush. He will be electric in the NFL, when he is actually healthy enough to play.

My co-worker, who went to Ohio State, said it was well-known that he was just biding his time for the NFL and he wasn't going to jeapordize his future by playing hurt in college.

Well, Beanie got his wish and now it is time to put up or shut up.

I've been worried that we would end up with this guy because of his injury situation in college, but I also would have told you the same concerns about Adrian Peterson before he was drafted. Boy, I missed on that one.

I hope I am wrong again. This guy is an undeniable talent and I hope he is everything that they project him to be. Go Cards and go Beanie!!!

The chemistry of the OSU team totally changed when Ginn went down on the first play of the NC Game. The lack of the stretch the field threat made the offense one dimensional, LSU no longer had to respect the deep threat and just stopped up the line, but their D ends didn't hurt either.

FYI the comments about Ginn - Ted Ginn had a very good sophomore year, including some returns and a break out game. He was a lot better pick than Brady Quinn, who Miami passed on to get him. Quinn has been keeping the bench warm for 2 years now. Ginn's rookie year Miami had a QB who couldn't get anyone on this planet the ball, he still remains a good pick with alot of potential, plus his kick returns more than prove his worth.

FYI. No.

...and Quinn was passed on by 21 teams and the Dolphins took John ( Huh ) Beck in the 2nd round. Kick returners Do not get drafted in the top ten. Hester 3rd round.

Texas is the (current) Arizona Cardinals of college football. Unstoppable passing offense, can't run the ball at all, a stellar run defense, but a classic break but don't bend defense and couldn't tackle your grandmother in the open field. They even missed out on a championship on a last second miracle reception.

They just spent multiple millions on a coach who they hope can return them to the days of dominating Texas defenses.

Having said that Wells still went for over 100 on the Horns who were 3rd in rushing yards per game allowed behind TCU and Alabama.

Say what you want about Wells, I like this train a whole lot better than the Lendale to Glendale one that pulled into the station a couple years ago.

Very cute. Didn't want this nice turn of phrase to go by unrecognized.

As far as wallyburger, don't let him get under your skin. He's a college football fan, not pro. With a pronounced bias for anything Florida. His burden, not ours. Poor man.

Edit: Use the "search" function on this forum, if you want to waste a few minutes and see if you can locate any positice post by wally on the Cardinals. Just sayin'.

Not sure if this was brought up yet, I dont feel like reading all of those pages I have missed.

Ohio State needs to change their semesters. All of their footballs cant go to the 4 week voluntary workout program because you cant practice while still in school and Ohio State has the one of the latest graduation dates in the country. Well is going to miss 3 weeks minimum. Although he is allowed to go to the mandatory stuff per league rules.

See Urbans recent blog about this.

I mentioned this on Sunday. It really puts their draftees behind the 8-ball. Even if someone has already graduated early, they are not allowed to practice until graduation. It makes it vital that Rod gets Beanie signed ON TIME. He can't afford to miss any training camp.

Interesting that his first ever NFL game was are playoff game against Atlanta this year when his team was here for the Fiesta Bowl.

His first ever NFL game was the Cardinals in a good playoff game. Interesting how things work.

There is a reason I stay out of here most of the time. I am a long time Card fan. I don't want to rain on anyone's parade. I know most on here are passionate about the Cardinals. I just stopped living and dying on their performance. I stay out to keep the peace. My very first post in ASFN, 6 years ago, was about Josh being a thumper. At the time, I believe it was a record for longest running post. I learned from that experience. It ain't nice to come into someone's house and soil the carpet.

BTW, Skorpp, you need to be updated. I am a college football fan, not necessarily a Florida football fan. I live with a Gator fan and she can make life a bit strenuous if I say anything about her beloved Gators. When the Gators are playing I stay far away. Can't figure out how an ex Villanova cheerleader loves the Gators so damned much. Must have been because her daughter went there. If the Gators and Canes ever renew the rivalry we may have to part ways for good.

they've been rumored to be switching for years but never do. I don't know the thinking behind it. It's again being talked about in the near future but i'll believe it when i see it. I know the football and, especially, the basketball programs want to switch.

The most surprising thing about this post is that you actually found someone who would live with you.:p

$1,000,000 in old ASFN dollars equals $1 in new ASFN dollars. So you only owe Mulli $1.

It's like when Mexico revalued the peso years ago. I remember when a beer in Mexico used to cost $10,000 pesos. Or one American dollar.
