I don't think even the most optimistic among us can see us winning 10 games.

I think he said 10 meaning 6. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that a 9-2 record from here on out is unlikely.

In reality Rod Graves is the man most responsible for this mess. If Rod Graves keeps his job after yet another losing season there needs to be some serious questioning of ownership and their actual desire to field a winner...people say M. Bidwill is different than his father, we need to see it by making a smart move for the organization.

Of course Rod Graves is a large part of this but Bidwill is the one keeping Graves. No one knows why we keep Graves but I suspect as long as Bidwill Sr. is alive the the young Bidwill could not fire Graves even if he wanted to. The last really great draft pick was hand picked by Dennis Green in Larry Fitz. We got Warner by pure luck

As a team we are terrible and I see no signs of improvement. I am trying to think of a worse team at this point? I used to could always point to Detroit or Buffalo but that option is gone for a long time. They do not know the meaning of losing apparently. As Dennis Green would say "We are what we think we are".

We need to get rid of Grimm and our OTs have to go. It all starts there, but I'm starting to think that the team is losing faith in Whis. If that is true, he needs to go. I can't believe that I'm saying that about the coach who led us to a Superbowl. Regardless of Whis, Grimm needs to leave ASAP....

Boo...I started this thread last year and got laughed at. Now you guys see what Mitch and I had seen last year. He was terrible last year.

And you said you were done with this place too, so it is hard to take much you say seriously.

I say Gruden, Fisher, Cowher, heck I would bring in Eddie Murphy..We would still be less comical.

I'm ALL IN for Eddie Murphy. I mean, you know the Bidwills would go NUTS for him. He's a big name and he could be our HC, DC, OC and QB, ala his multiple roles in Coming To America/Nutty Professor saving them a ton of money!

I would love to see Reid fired in Philly.

Reid & Casserly. Doesn't matter who the coach is if Graves is still asleep at the wheel.

This team could use a good colon cleansing. :D

Tell me more. I dont live in Ariozna. Is the media finally getting fed up too?

I don't think the media is. Sadly, so many guys are already co-opted by the Cards (i.e. Jody Jackson is on the payroll, as well as everyone at 910) that these pressers are just going to get more and more quiet. I Tweeted Kent Somers saying the last two independent Cards reporters need to start asking tough questions, and he said that those questions are being answered, I just don't like what Whis says.

The press knows that Whis isn't going anywhere for at least another year and a half; they're not going to burn bridges when they need him for quotes for the next 18 months. It won't be until next fall that we start hearing his name paired with the word "embattled".

But (maybe it's because it's the bye week), but the guys on the Cards postgame show were clearly pretty mad about the result. Usually they're punching bags for the callers, but today they were saying that things clearly weren't working, that players aren't physical enough, etc., etc.

As a Whiz backer, he doesn't get my love anymore. This team needs to be completely cleaned out. New president, new GM, new scouts and new coach.

Wow. I'm not there yet but I'm damn close.

If whis has the sack to fire Grimm and hire are REAL effing OC, one that he can't just dryhump into calling the plays he wants him to, well...then I'll be ok with Whis as HC.

But he's a hop skip and two blowouts from me calling for his head. (I have already conceded a blowout in B'more.

Michael Bidwill needs to respond in some way. Personally I have seen enough of Whiz.

What will they tell the fans now?

I think MB wants to win, but I am not sure he knows enough about football to make the right decisions? His response to the QB situation this year was ballsy, but a horrible team killing move. :bang:

Hes no Warner, Warnerhof but Kolb is without a doubt one of the better qb prospects this has had! That's one of the better offseason moves this team has made you can't knock it when the coaching and oline is so bad to even evaluate what he will or won't be! God some fans are crazy 5 games and ready to hang all this crap on Kolb unfreaking believable! Kolb, beanie, fitz are the best three offensive weapons this team has ! With actual coaching that didn't stink we may have something. Everyone neEds to slow down on running Kolb out of town, we've done that to enough players over the years!

I agree with what K-9 said, Whiz will have through next year. He has built in excuses with the lockout, new QB, new DC, and injuries. I'm not saying that I agree with those excuses but he'll be able to sell them to the FO. Look at the terrible records some of the other coahces had and they lasted alot longer than expected. The fact is, no matter who is coaching, the team will stink as long as Graves is in charge. He needs to go much sooner than Whiz, or anyone else.

Cardinals, with a different coaching staff and the same talent, blow out these crappy Vikings, IMHO.

I don't think so. I don't care who you bring in here, same thing happens. Problem is, they made themselves a big turd sandwich and now we all have to eat it. Every Sunday. For the next 3 years. Some Sundays, it will have mayo on it. Some Sundays, it will have mustard on it. Some Sundays, it will be plain and really taste like turd, like yesterday. Some Sundays, it will be topped with the finest of French reblochon and we will forget we are even eating turd.

Now the customers would like something besides turd to eat. Not so fast. There's a 3 year supply of turd in the freezer. So do you hire a new chef to serve your turd? After all, the current chef is getting really good at it. Do you hire a restaurant manager to work up a new menu for when the turd runs out? Or do you launch a regionwide advertising campaign, heralding the multiple benefits of eating turd?

I thought there was almost nothing realistic that could happen that would get me on this bandwagon this year...I might have been wrong. Like Donald, I don't know that I'm there just yet, but I'm eyeballing that window seat in the back.

As for who we could bring in: Jeff Fisher is far and away at the top of my list. If I were the Bidwills I'd be putting out some feelers to gauge his interest because you can bet he's at the top of a lot of team's wish lists. If it means pulling the trigger on Whiz now so we can lock him up, I'm all for it.

I just don't see how bringing in a new coach will solve anything. If anything, it will ensure we get more of what we have now for another 2 to 3 years. Although if I had to pick I too like Jeff Fisher. Also, I know people are tired of Steelers connections but I take Bill Cowher in a heartbeat.

We just CAN'T pay a top-shelf HC like Fisher to come in and replace Whis, and unless Graves follows Whis out the door, we're not going to get a top HC to come in without giving him personnel control or an ability to handpick the GM. That's one reason why cutting Whis loose is just not an option right now.

The personnel cupboard is getting pretty bare, and we may be looking at an entire rebuild. If you're a head coach who is going to get paid $6 million per year and offered that by any number of teams, why would you come here to be stuck with Fitz (who's good), but also Kolb (whom you didn't choose--we saw what happened with #7), Daryl Washington (who is in a contract year next year), Beanie Wells (ditto), after-30 Darnell Dockett, the corpse of Adrian Wilson, and zero offensive tackles as your core?

I think that the smartest path would be to fire Graves and hire a strong general manager, allow the GM a year to figure out the personnel and decide on Whis, and then decide wether to blow out Whis and his staff after the 2012 season. The problem is maybe 70% poor talent and 25% poor coaching. The issue is that the poor coaches are allowed to dictate who comes in and out on the personnel side.

Although I'm still in favor of jettisoning Whis, bringing in a new GM would be a better move.

That's what happened in Cleveland with Holmgren and their personnel. It's a rebuild there, and they're transitioning from a 3-4 (kind of) to a 4-3, but they're certainly a more promising team right now than the Cards are, in a much tougher division.

It's just weird to think about the way that this team is constructed. There doesn't really seem to be a plan about how this team should be built. Even if the individual choices are defensible, when you look at the whole roster, you have to wonder what the vision of this team is supposed to be.
