I may be calling for Whiz's head after the season, but the Cards kept this game closer than many thought they could.

They quit on Whiz and so have I.

3-14 in the last 17 games. Keeping the game close is irrelevant, a loss is a loss.

He's gonna be 3-17 in a few weeks..

Team just needs to start over... he had a solid run.. i thank him for that, but it's time to turn the page

I disagree. A loss IS a loss but we've been handled fairly easily two weeks in a row and it doesn't bode well for our future. I'd have much preferred to see us go winless all season but be competitive in every single game. At least then I could convince (or delude) myself into believing there was a corner we could soon turn. Right now, all we need is a new coaching staff, a new management team, a new offense, a new defense and a few solid special teams players. It's hard to believe we can correct all that in one offseason.

I am watching the Ken Whisenhunt press conference and it looks like a replay.."We didn't make as many plays as they did.." "We are gonna continue to work.." bla bla bla, same ole same ole.

I don't understand this line of thinking (although I've seen it a lot here). Warner was a strong leader and he did his job. You can't coach in this league without a few strong leaders on the field. Where I fault Whiz the most is that he directed or allowed management to get rid of all the strong leaders that had held this team together.

Steve

Whiz rode Warners coat tails. No Warner and whiz would already have been gone.

Marty I hate to say it would be a perfect choice for this franchise.

He knows football enough to build a winner, course the playoffs will suck but we will at least make them routinely.

Did you guys catch that Dierdorf story where he was talking about how Roethlisberger chaffed under Whisenhunt when Whisenhunt wanted to run a play and BR said he wasn't comfortable with running the play and KW said too bad, you're going to run it anyway. That's the same bs mentality that has this team at 3-18 the past 21 games or whatever it is.

Again I say there is a reason the Steelers didn't want Whiz as their head coach. Too bad we couldn't see it until now.

Theres no point in firing Whiz right now

The season is over. Firing him will not make a difference. The correct thing to do is play out the season, fire him when its over, and have the summer to properly look for a perm HC.

Need someone who will let all the kids play and get experience including some good coaching and teaching which will not happen as long as Whiz is coaching. He still believes he has a "good team" and "his system works" and will continue this pattern.

You conveniently left out Rothlisberger saying he was young and dumb and that "controversy" was his fault not Whiz

I think there is enough Whiz blame on the board wo you making stuff up

Yup Roethlisberger also said there is no bad blood in between them and Roethlisberger strikes me as someone who could be difficult to well with.I brought that up because I think it highlights some things we have seen, such as forcing Kolb into the system instead of developing the system around his strengths, playing veterans over rookies when it's obvious the rookies are better simply because he doesn't believe instating rookies as well as some other crap we have seen from this coaching staff.

when you fire a coach mid season, the Temp is usually someone within. I dont think anyone on this staff is suitable to even be a interim HC.

Besides, you should fear the interim effect. say the cards stole 4 or 5 fluke wins and that guy becomes the Perm HC.

Rather play it out and get someone worth having.

Cardinals Talk on 620 is great. It amazes me how Bloom can continue to defend Whiz every week. He with be canned soon enough and then Bloom will act as if it is the proper decision.

Ive quit AZ sports talk radio. The few competent guys who have ever been on air (Asher for instance) are gone. Now I get to listen to Doug and YEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH Wolf. What a joy that is

Either way the result is the same on the field but putting him out of his misery at least gives the fans hope. This guy has botched so much. The real question is there a man alive that can dig us out of Ken's hot mess? It will take a Lombardi like effort to win with this group.
