I will say this if Anderson starts the season he doesn't finish the season and not due to injury either. Not to sound pessimistic but DA stinks, we will be out of the playoff hunt by December and we'll have to see what we have in Skelton or Hall at that point.

Our only hope this season was that Leinart lived up to his potential.

either Matty is traded or we start Matty. Whis has never played his cards in public. Classic mis-information tactic.

1. You weren't required to start this thread. You choose too.

2. You believe that you know what Whiz wants and expects, and, further, conclude that Matt can't meet these expectations.

3. No one asked if you believed in Matt or Whiz. We knew the answer.

I'll pass on the mind reading, and instant conclusions on the most recent decision... and simply await the outcome.

OMG. I was going to write a post almost exactly like this.

I'm scared.

I feel I'm right and that Matt outplayed the Oline, THT and everybody else on offense. I'm starting to feel like The Whizard of AZ is stupid! Ex Steeler busts and no signed drafted Cards besides AW and Fitz since He's been here. Yea to hell with Matty I'm worried about Coach being a bust without Denny Green drafted players.

Sorry but Andre Roberts was stupid with Everson Griffin on the board.

I want Matt to start period, and give him our accomplised Oline and the Bean like a real coach would. or lie in your own waste Whisenhunt.

Lost faith in Leinart as a Cardinal a long time ago but I will say this...I think he can resurrect his career with another team. He is not as bad as he looks right now...

In my opinion, this means one of two things -

A) Whis has seen enough and is giving DA a chance to secure the starting job. This would probably mean #7 will not make the 53 man roster.

B) Whis doesn't want to kill Leinart behind a shaky 1st team OL that will have to block Tommie Harris and Julius Peppers. The first team offense is also without Fitz, Doucet, Roberts, and Patrick. Whis could be under the impression that starting Leinart under these conditions is negligent and a waste of time, yet at the same time sees an opportunity to light a fire under his ass. Could be a win/win in Whis' eyes.

No idea what the method to his madness is but I definitely think we're in for a lot more QB drama the next two weeks. Also, I might sound like a homer, but we could still end up having the best QB in the NFC West regardless of who wins the battle. I know, call me crazy but Hasseldouche/Smith/Bradford don't exactly strike fear in me.

I think Whiz may be the coach of the year, already.

NOTHING appears for certain; no where for human nature to sit back and relax for a bit.

Matt appears to need a little more tempering...so back in the oven with him!

I now really wonder who is going to step on the field with the first team in St. Louis; before I was sure it was going to be Matt, now...oh boy, get your popcorn cause it is going to be a show!

That was this morning. Before the QB move made by Whisenhunt.

This one is more current:

http://www.azcentral.com/members/Blog/KentSomers/96437

Whisenhunt emphasized Thursday that his decision to start Anderson over Leinart in Chicago Saturday didn't mean Leinart had necessarily lost the starting job beyond this week. But it is a signal that, at least in the view of coaches, the competition is much tighter than it was two weeks ago.
Whisenhunt typically doesn't make such decisions without careful consideration, and he had to be troubled by Leinart's body language in recent games.
Clearly, coaches want to see more passion, more assertiveness from Leinart.

Well said.

But...

At this point I don't think Leinart/DA are better than Smith. Alex played pretty well last year & I think we as Card fans tend to think all our talent is better than our opponets talent. I see a very longgggggggg season right around the corner. :bang:

I agree, especially with the "our talent is better than yours" motto. Smith did play better last season but he still only had around an 80 QB rating I believe and won only one road game. Also, the only team w/ a winning record that he led his team to victory against was the Cardinals. He definitely has momentum on his side but he's still unproven if you ask me.

I thought Leinart had changed but he simply does not have the mentality to be a good QB in this league.

The question for 2010 is...Do we tank for the best QB in the draft or appease the fans since I still think this team is capable of going .500.

A lot of the high QB picks in NFL drafts do not pan out. Some names that come to mind; Tim couch, Ryan Leaf, Joey Harrington, Michael Vick, Akili Smith, Rick Mirer, Heath Shuler, Jamarcus Russell, and of course Matt Leinart.

And a lot of them also pan out...Some names come to mind: Philip Rivers, Big Ben, Peyton Manning, Carson Palmer, Eli Manning, Matt Ryan. I think we have the coaching and system needed to NOT draft a bust at QB in the early part of the draft.

Sorry guys, but I don't think we've seen the last of Leinart. Our supposed 1st team OL made life miserable for Leinart. Also, Leinart didn't have Beanie on the field. Anderson will look even worse playing behind that line. Add Hightower to that mix, & Anderson will realize he was set up. Conversely, Leinart will be playing behind the real starters & will have Beanie in the backfield. Come Saturday night, Anderson will even more pathetic than usual & Leinart will throw for 150 yds in 1 1/2 qtrs. DA will NOT be our starter on opening day - take it to the bank.

You never tank before a season starts, especially w/ the talent on this roster. We still don't know what we have in Leinart. We have to realize that we can go to the playoffs this season if Leinart plays like he did in TN last year.

The offense only put up 10 points against Tennessee. I wouldn't say that is a recipe for going to the playoffs.

I hope you are right!! Dont understand the THT plug as a negative. But I guess those that dont like him just dont like him.
