The first season definitely has it's clunkers but it also has some very solid episodes:

1. Ice
2. Squeeze
3. The Erlenmeyer Flask
4. The Pilot
5. Fallen Angel
6. Beyond the Sea
7. EBE
8. Darkness Falls

Those are my favorites in Season 1.

Ugh, Jon, I have an itchin to go watch these episodes now!!

We are not... who we are! We are not... who we are!

That scene still gives me the chills.

I think my favorite line of the whole episode is when Mulder is explaining the case to Scully, and Scully just looks queesy from the thought of travelling up there. And Mulder, being Mulder, jokingly taunts Scully with "Bring your mittens!" in that sing-song voice. Cracks me up every time!

Doggett has grown on me over the years, but Season 8.. and particularly 9 still just leave a bad taste in my mouth.

When I first watched the Doggett episodes years ago, it took awhile for me to like him, but watching now, there would be a lot of potential with his storyline and how he fits into the X-Files. It's one thing to have an unbelieving weasel like Spender running the X-Files, but it's another to have an unbeliever that actually wants to solve these crimes. Of course, that comes crashing down once Agent Reyes arrives on the scene.

IMO, the best line in the entire 1st season is from Mulder as well, except this one is in Tooms, where Mulder finds Eugene's "nest" and gets some of that nasty bile on his fingers...

Scully: It looks like... bile.
Mulder: Is there any way I can get this off my fingers quickly without betraying my cool exterior?

EDIT: Actually, I believe this appears in "Squeeze" -- "Tooms" is the sequel to that ep.

At one point I had access to dvdrips of the first seven seasons but for some reason I never burned them. I watched a few episodes but never got into it. Used sets of season 1 are selling for <$25 so I think I'll give it another chance.

Have you watched the last episode of Season 2 (Anasazi) and the first two episodes of Season 3 (The Blessing Way/Paper Clip) yet?

IMO, that is the best 3 ep arch in the entire show. One of the best cliff hangers to end a season, too.

Finally just finished the entire season run tonight--hadn't seen the finale in a long time, so that was interesting, especially when they do a really good job of explaining everything about the conspiracy. They also finally gave Anabeth Gish some good lines when she spouts off against Kersh. Unfortunately, I think that while they gave Mulder and Scully a good sendoff, they didn't do it for the other characters. We never see what happened to the X-files or anything. I mean, our last glimpse of Doggett is him watching Mulder and Scully driving away. That's it. But outside of the those problems and some of the philosophical gobbly-**** (a big problem with all the conspiracy episodes, IMO), it was a good ep and cool to see so many of the old characters.

Took me 10 months, but I have finally seen every episode of the X-Files. Chronalogically.

Awesome! I love doing huge X-File marathons, but now that college is over, I may not have as much time like I did before. But I plan on watching it from the start - I haven't done that in a year and a half.

I thought the finale was kind of... eh... except for the last maybe half hour. My favorite scene was Mulder and Scully's hotel room scene for two reasons. 1) It harked back to the pilot episode when they were in a hotel room together, talking about their life. 2) The final scene ends with them together, holding eachother and ready to take on whatever comes next (invasion).

God, I miss that show. :(

32, I love the fact that you are still pimpin the 'Files years later. I wish that some of the current shows that are on now develop such a following.... (Lost, 24, Smallville, etc)

Old habits die hard :|

I wish I could get into the new shows like I did the X-Files, but so far nothing has really grabbed my interest. Any suggestions? heh

see above!

Most of the HBO shows are well written and have a good genre of selections. Sopranos, Sex and the City, OZ, Six Feet Under, etc.
