I know a bunch of you guys like Yuengling and, since I am enjoying one right now, I thought I'd start the Official Yuengling Appreciation thread.

Funny story. When I first moved to Arizona, I heard someone order a lager. My ears perked up and my eyes darted around the bar, hoping to spy some of my delicious Pottsville brew. Little did I know they were talking about Dos Equis Lager. NOT COOL!

When I drove out here from Jersey, there were a few things that didn't make it into the SUV since I was running out of space. Of course, I made darn sure that there was room for the two cases of Yuengling I purchased to bring with me. :)

My sis is coming out to Vegas/Phoenix at the end of July. She is bringing an extra checked bag simply so she can bring me some Yuengling. Have I mentioned lately how much my sister rocks? :) Good thing, too, cause I am down to just three.

Okay, this is a long post. Maybe I like this beer a little too much. :)

A couple of weeks ago when I was on the road we were at the bar and someone that was with us ordered a Yuengling.
So because of all the praise I had heard on this board I ordered one too.

I've got to tell you..........................................................
I wasn't impressed.

boo - hissss

yuengling is the king of cheap beer

i miss walking into a bar and just ordering a lager without being asked which kind

was always easy to find $5 pitchers or $1 bottles, sometimes even $.25 drafts - tasty - also one of the few beers I've had that makes a really good light beer - i'm also a big fan of their porter

i've gone on the brewery tour a couple times - kind of a scary place as they are still in the building they were in back in the 1800s - but the tasting at the end is pure bliss

my laptop wallpaper is still the yuengling logo

Maybe the draft is a different thing. The bottle I had was not inspiring, especially at a premium price. I was in Florida.

One of my favorite drafts is Newcastle Brown Ale yet I really don't like it in the bottle.

"Ying Ding" is the ol reliable of beers. When you're through with all the fancy Stouts, Pale Ales and Triple Bock Wheats, you can always come on home to a cold Lager. I like the Black & Tan too, but that Lord Chesterfield?? Horrible.

Ahh, the Ying. I am looking forward to my next NY trip for the Ying...

especially at a premium price.

What I am finding absolutely shocking right now is that Corona is being sold as a premium beer. Since when has this been going on? I was at costco, and these were the beers cheaper than Corona per case, by at least 2 dollars:

Sam Adams
Heineken
Bass
Dos Equis
JW Dundees
Fat Tire

And this one was a dollar cheaper:

Stella Artois

WTH is up with that? Corona at a premium price? It's not even the best "mexican" beer. Pacifico is.

yeah - lord chesterfield isn't that good - place really isn't an ale house

i love all sorts of beers and would even swing by monks cafe when I wanted to drop an assload of cash and deal with crowds to drink many good belgians - o'neals on south had a good selection as well - however, there was always a nice lager on hand for the everyday drinking

i know they are broadening their distribution and it seems to be a premium beer in FL (whereas in the NE it's an everyday beer) - not sure where their nearest bottling plant or how much product they move would be - with any green glass beer you're going to expose it to more light and other elements that could sour the beer - kind of like how I can't drink becks, grolsh or heineken in the states

corona has the marketing going on so hard that people will pay up for it

to me it's always been funny that stella has been a premium beer here -when I was living in london it was one of the cheapest beers - as such it became a beer I drank a lot of

i also grew up in upstate NY and honey brown was really not expensive as it was produced out of rochester - but once I was out of that radius it became much more expensive

i've seen the same with leinenkugels pending which parts of the midwest you are in

the market can be a funny thing

Man I love Fat Tire... 'course, in a pinch, a cold Corona with a lime will do...
However, IMO, the best Mexican beer is Negra Modello...

My wife can actually drink that beer. We bought a case of it at Costco the last time we were there.

Yuengling is good for a cheap beer. IC light and Miller High life are better IMO.

I would hate Honey Brown if it was my every day beer. It's good for an occasional 6.

Nevermind, we have that law that says you can't import beer. I thought they repealed that?

Stupid Arizona. :cueGee: :p

Actually Jersey has the same stupid law so I feel right at home.

Three Yuenglings left. I think one is calling my name. :)
