I think Elway is a Tebow guy. At least, that's the talk here in Denver.

I believe it. Where does Orton fit in this? I wonder if Elway's new job leads to another temptation for Marino to hook up with the Dolphins. Tuna is gone. Marino is going broke. Fanbase reveres Marino as much as Broncs love Elway, I assume. Imagine Kelly working for the Bills, Elway with the Broncs and Marino with the Dolphs. That would be the QB class that keeps on giving.

And Blackledge for the Chiefs! ;)

I'd stay put and take the best QB with a Scout rating of 90 or over.

P.S. I'll bet a Canadian dollar (at par this morning) that's what the Cards do.;)

I'd love to get Luck but I hate the idea of trading multiple one's for the guy (or any single player). If I really thought we were just a QB away, then yeah, I'd go for it but we have too many holes to fill. Luck would be approaching his second contract and halfway out the door by the time we had anything of value to put around the guy.

If Luck is the real deal--a Payton Manning type--then give up what is necessary to get him.

You just hate to give up alot and end up with Heath Shuler instead.

With holes in other important areas, we should stand pat. I know Luck is probably the real deal, it would be a disservice not only to Luck but to our team if we didnt address other weaknesses on the team, such as the o-line (in particular, the left tackle). We have the #5 pick and the capability of getting a game changing player. We also have the luxury of trading down and getting more picks if another team covets someone in that draft slot.

Furthermore, our 2nd round pick is going to be in a good position as well (38th overall I believe). We can still get another impact player. Hell, we got Daryl Washington later than that in the 2nd round and he looks promising.

IMO, we are in a good position to take impact players in the first two rounds if we play our cards right.

This is a impossibility to me. We don't have the cut throat GM (that it will take) that can into the draft and get this done.

I'm sure someone mentioned it but Todd McShay says Luck will get the highest grade he's ever given a QB. He did say he hasn't been doing it near as long as Kiper has so for instance he didn't issue a grade on Elway or Peyton Manning, but he says prior to Luck the highest grade he gave was to Matt Ryan, and he has luck better than Ryan across the board.

He gave them a 99/100 right? Well he was right about Ryan and probably is about Luck too. The one thing that surprises me about Luck is him only having one solid year under him.

Yeah he's the one rating Gabbert the best of the rest too right?

Personally I think the team ought to opt for the surest things possible, the position here has been so anemic other than Kurt for so long it's time to lock Luck down.

Trade Fitz to where he agrees to go, gather picks for him, bite the bullet and fire away, that's what I'd do.

Surprise me, be bold, shock me.

I know this if we do that blockbuster thing I'd seriously think it was unreal, we never do stuff like that, but I would this year.

I can dream then reality sets in.

Todd Blackledge here we come.

It would be OK to trade the whole draft for him. Its not as devastating as it might seem. Use the money saved from signing picks to pick up FA's or keep your own players.

qb is the most important position on this team right now.

Man... I've never been in favor of making drastic moves and selling the farm during the draft. Thought Ditka was insane for doing what he did to grab Ricky....
BUT - Luck is by far the most well-rounded QB, and most mature, level-headed and grounded college kid I have seen since I've been paying attention to such matters (25-30 years or so...).

Seriously... Luck is about as "for-real" as any player ever has been or ever will be. The Cards would never do this of course.... but, if they did, I would be quite OK with it!! ;)

QB is worth half of the team. Giving all picks and even Fitz to get a great QB, would be a good move definitely. I have seen several Luck's games recently and there are not many flaws in his game. Accuracy, decision making, ball placement, mechanics, maturity. Even size and mobility. He is very balanced QB and smart, he has very high chance of becoming a good starter in NFL.

Rather go with Luck and find some solid FA recievers with good hands than playing Skelton and Fitz. We also have a solid reciever group even without Fitz.

We should also pick a proven veteran like Bulger or Pennington, or just the best of who is available, i don't know he is FA then.

Luck and Ponder to me are looking like real deals, not just average NFl starters but great players.

We were never gonna get him. At the least a QB will be available for us (Newton) when we pick if Luck comes out. If Luck stays in school, Newton will be twice as pricey.

Many many weaknesses on a team can be overlooked if you have a true stud 1a QB.

This is a QB driven league. That is just a fact.

Not surprised. Doesn't mean they won't trade him for the right price either. A La San Diego and the Giants for Manning and Rivers. :fingerscrossed:

Yep, look at what Brady does in NE without true #1 WR's. Manning loses Dallas Clark and doesn't miss a beat with Tamme. They haven't missed Marvin Harrison at all either. Rivers , other than Gates, had complete dog crap at WR this year. If Carolina would take Fitz and a #1, I'd help Fitz pack his bags. Ideally they want draft picks and we should give them what they want. Then we have Luck to Fitz.
