I couldn't be any further from a Spurs fan. Fans like Elindholm make me quite sick to read some of the negative junk that they post. I don't care if he is really a Suns fan, but he sure isn't acting like a very good one saying this junk about forfeiting.

I'll be at the game tomorrow. If you hear a couple madmen giving the Spurs bench an earful ALL GAME LONG... that's us.

This is just a ******* terrible decision.

Good thing Stern canceled his visit.

Gonna be way to hard to knock down those threes with any consistency with no inside presence for the Spurs to worry about whatsoever. I know you know this but thats what makes those threes possible on a consistent basis.

With Amare and Diaw out they have nobody to get attention on the inside.

Yes, they will have to make some contested ones. But, they are capable of it.

I just don't think forfeiting the game will send some grandiose message and make the NBA change is all. I just don't see the purpose.

You are correct but it would be funny as hell and forever talked about.

I think we can win without them though it will prove difficult. Lets win tomorrow and wrap this thing up on SA's home court. NOw that would be sayin "IN YO FACE"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

elindholm, you clearly would be worthless as a coach of any organized sports team, so in that sense, thank God you have nothing to do with the team itself. In absolutely no way is the game a hopeless one. The team is not 1 player, or even 2. The Suns went a long way last year without Amare, and Diaw is very replaceable this year. They may lose given this situation, but it sure as hell isn't hopeless.

This is Shawn's time to show what he can do... Nash and Marion will have to carry it tomorrow.

I say start the scrubs, let Marion, Nash, Bell, Barbosa, and Thomas sit this one out with the "flu". Save them for game 6 and let the Spurs run around for 48 min. Enjoy the victory Spurs, must taste sweet.

I'm so disgusted right now.

I really don't want to argue about this but...

#1. Whether real or imagined, the Suns have a reputation of being soft. Nothing says "soft" like quitting because things didn't go the way you had hoped.

#2. The Suns have some 15,000 fans with very expensive playoff tickets tomorrow. These people have made arrangements/plans to be there and are entitled to watch and root for their team. Forfeitting a game has the potential to take away the fans chance to voice their displeasure to the Spurs and the NBA. There is no guarantee we win in San Antonio.

#3. If the Suns are exhausted come Game 6 (which is fairly difficult since two of their top 7 get an extra day off), then the blame goes on D'Antoni for mismanaging the game.

#4. You still have Steve Nash. The real MVP. He can beat the Spurs by himself. If you listen to the Spurs fans they feel he did it last night.

#5. The pressure on San Antonio is enormous. They absolutely must win this game.

I am not going to insult your opinion or anything Eric, I just disagree with your stand on this.

We have a hard enough time beating the Spurs with everyone on hand. No way we win NO WAY. Sorry.

Gee, I don't know. You're an idiot, which is about as close to a Spurs fan as you can be.

Very high intelligence level you are showing. This coming from a guy recommending a team gives up. Good thing no "real" fans agree with you.

We need to play but need to take at least one of the Spurs out to an injury, preferably Duncan or Parker.

I can see this decison setting off a terrible precedent tomorrow night.

Scenario: Suns are down late and the game is pretty much out of hand. Insert Pat Burke. What do the Suns have to lose by triggering a brawl? Hell, they'll probably be rewarded for it.

The league has created a situation that may get out of hand tomorrow night.

All I know is Stoudemire is going off for 50 and 20 in game 6. If this was an episode of the Soprano's like 25 guys would be getting wacked

I agree with everything except the MVP needed finisher like Stat to win yesterday's game. It will make it monumentally difficult without him.

I would appreciate it if you and Elindholm took your war of words to private message. It isn't enhancing the discussion.

I say we just put our 8th-12 guys on the court and as soon as the ball is thrown up, they all just tackle the Spurs players and start beating the hell out of them.

The Valley so low.
Why is this thing 'Spider TX' not already banned, according to the announced policy? Nothing to contribute.

Addressing the proposal seriously, I sure agree that we should watch the starters' minutes. If we simply forfeit, Stern might extend the suspension another game.

I'd suggest different routes of attack. Does anyone know what hotel the Spurs stay in? What hotel Stern stays in? Perhaps some demonstration of our feelings might be in order.

Also, I've seen nothing out of McCain or Kyle, or Napolitano, about this. Perhaps McCain could describe to Stern how his time offseason is going to be tied up with Senate hearings about the NBA's drug non-policy. Surely a minute examination could be made of his finances and sources of bias linked to them. Stern is a dictator, and deserves to be taken down a few more notches than God already did to him.

Chris, that's fair, and I'll stop, but fans do not need to be reading this give up junk. The Suns are damaged for this next game, no doubt, but they will never give up, and need all the fan support they can get. His negative attitude isn't enhancing anything.

#1. Whether real or imagined, the Suns have a reputation of being soft. Nothing says "soft" like quitting because things didn't go the way you had hoped.

But it's not quitting. The whole point is to try to win the series. It's like a tennis player who gets behind two service breaks and eventually says, "Screw it, this set is lost, time to focus on the next one." It happens all the time.

#2. The Suns have some 15,000 fans with very expensive playoff tickets tomorrow. These people have made arrangements plans to be there and are entitled to watch and root for their team.

We'll just have to see what a privilege it is to watch the game. I doubt anyone is going to enjoy it.

#3. If the Suns are exhausted come Game 6 (which is fairly difficult since two of their top 7 get an extra day off), then the blame goes on D'Antoni for mismanaging the game.

So what you're proposing is a pseudo-forfeit by limiting the minutes of the core players. Why bother going halfway, if the result is the same?

#4. You still have Steve Nash. The real MVP. He can beat the Spurs by himself. If you listen to the Spurs fans they feel he did it last night.

I'm not really all that interested in the analysis of Spurs fans. I seem to recall that it was Stoudemire making those tough finishes down the stretch. Who's going to do that now?

#5. The pressure on San Antonio is enormous. They absolutely must win this game.

Considering that they've won three of the last eight titles, I don't think they have much of a problem with playoff pressure.

I am not going to insult your opinion or anything Eric, I just disagree with your stand on this.

I appreciate that.

Tell you what: If the Suns lose by less than 15, I'll admit I was wrong. (If they're down by 25 with four minutes to go and randomly cut the gap to 13 in the final seconds of garbage time, that doesn't count.) But I'd set the line for this game at about -18 for the Spurs, and even then I'd bet the favorite.

If I felt he deserved to be banned he would be. Right now I am allowing a small amount of leeway because people's emotions are high. (and I am trying to be a nicer mod)

Come on guys. We can't forfeit this game. Look at it this way. Everything happens for a reason right? Maybe everything we went thru last year without Amare will all come full circle tomorrow. It's not going to be easy, but if the suns get hot, play small. There's no reason we cant outscore the spurs.

You say I have nothing to contribute when I'm saying a team should, and will never give up before the game ever happens. The Suns have shown they can win without Amare before, and they can do it again.

Sounds good. I will do the same if we lose by more than 15 :)
