Yep
That was the end of their dominance.

I wasn't following high school basketball ball much at the time but the move didn't feel right.

It appears it was all about getting him into Duke early but it appears it was the right move on his part.

This almost like the "Fire McD" sort of debate. People said they would say "I told you so" if he screws up this draft and can't get the Suns back on track this offseason but if he does, what do they lose? Nothing, their team is good again. If the Suns draft Doncic and he ends up being a stud then what do the people who are so against him risk now? Are they really going to stay away while the Suns start winning again? No chance. If the Suns take Ayton and he ends up being Alex Len 2.0 then what? We're stuck with a draft bust while people 2nd guess the selection that the front office made.

There is nothing gained by anyone saying they'll quit watching if the Suns do or don't do something regarding the draft. There's no accountability amongst other fans. You can quit buying tickets and that might hurt the team and Sarver's bottomline but it's unlikely it will make a dent. This is just how fans voice their frustration. Fans shouldn't try holding other fans accountable either way.

I think something people are overlooking or failing to realize if we must improve on the defensive end. MUST!

So who has a better chance of improving that aspect of our team? If you say Doncic your a fanboy or in denial. It certainly wont be bagley.. Young? JJJ? Porter?

Ayton has the tools. Its Ayton or bust. I can see us floating around mediocrity for the next decade if we draft Doncic at #1. Book it

We're horrible on offense too. If you look at Hollinger's stats, he shows us as dead last in both offensive and defensive efficiency. But the gap from us to the rest of the league is noticeably worse on offense.

Counting on a player to be something he’s not already is a plan for disaster. I think Ayton will be a stud offensively and on the boards, and I see he has potential athletically to be a good defender, but he’s not coming in as one. So if you’re basing your argument on defense it’s a weak argument at best.

What is all this talk about people “risking” something? I have zero problems when admitting I’m wrong. Just look at the Cards board during the draft. I was as unenthusiastic about the team and questioning Keim as anyone pre-draft and then almost got banned because of my exjewberance for him when he got The Rosen One!

Nothing’s gained or lost in these boards unless you take yourself so seriously that you can’t admit when you’re wrong.

Although I am a supporter of drafting Ayton #1 the better rim protectors might be JJJ and Bamba.

Ayton is not there yet.

Well then we know Ayton will help there also. Plus the tanking might have something to do with that. We were the worst team in the league.

Well then counting on Doncic to be magic johnson according to some people on this board is even worse. I think a weak argument is to take Doncic over Ayton when it doesn't fit bpa nor team need.

Ill be happy when we pick Ayton and put this to rest.

Not a single person has said Doncic IS magic. Not a one. NO ONE is counting on him to be magic.

And BPA will ultimately be played out post draft during their careers. A LOT of professional pundits consider Doncic BPA.

Ive seen people saying that he is the next magic on this board somewhere.
But he damn well better be if we dont get a center.

And yea thats fine. But i dont agree. I see Doncic like that girl from another country you think is hot. Its mostly because she talks with an accent and shes foreign. But your white girlfriend in reality is actually much hotter.

I want Ayton, I expect we will take Ayton... but what we need is superstar talent. I think both Doncic and Ayton have that potential but I think Ayton is more likely.

“but your white girlfriend?!?” . . . oh boy.

And no, no one here has said Doncic is magic. You did not see that.

uh... yeah. that ain't kosher.

i've seen him projected best case scenario close to that more than a couple times... or at least seen Magic's name brought up in convo when talking about him, talking about how he could punish smaller guards like Magic did and how he wouldn't have guard smaller guards like Magic.

Firmly on Team Ayton but I don’t want to see Luka go Sacramento. Rather he get stuck in Atlanta away from the Suns.
