The Stepien has been ridiculously low on Ayton all year. They had him at #6 or #7 on their big board for most of the year. Right now they have Wendall Carter ahead of him. They have Doncic at the top of their board in a tier on his own. They have Trae Young and Jaren Jackson in their 2nd tier. Then they have Wendall Carter, Bagley, and then Ayton in their 3rd tier, which Michael Porter is also in, just below Ayton.
Not surprising, there are many who think Michael Porter Jr may end up best player from this draft. He was seen head and shoulders above everyone in this class before his injury.

I can understand the idea that Porter could be the steal of the draft, especially since he'll be picked somewhere between 5-9 but I'm not sure if he'll have that much of a positive impact on a team. I still don't see how someone could put Wendall Carter ahead of Ayton. Doncic before Ayton, ok, I can buy it but I don't see it myself, but they have 5 players ahead of Ayton and Porter isn't one of them.

I would be excited if we could package some assets and get Bagley as well. He could be the next KD.
Could be a Jayson Tatum type situation from last draft where everyone talked about Fultz/Lonzo but Tatum ended up the better player. Everyone's been talking about Ayton/Doncic but perhaps Bagley ends up the better one.

I'm sure some people will be glad to see this. I didn't think there was much doubt the Suns would take Ayton but to see it put so straight forward is a good thing. No one thinks the Suns will take someone else. All asked answered Ayton or "I don't know", no one said Doncic.

Here is the article I pulled that from, Hoopshype's aggregate mock draft update.

I am sorry. I am not trying to be picky, but some had him as the best player, but head and shoulders would indicate the clear cut #1 pick by a significant margin and that was not the case.

Am I the only one who came away after the Suns worked out Bamba yesterday thinking this kid is going to be much better than Gobert?

His intelligence, measurements and skills sold me. He is going to be able to protect the rim right away. I'm going to be sick when another team drafts him.

12 foot leap with a 7'10 arm span is crazy. And he apparently has improved his shot dramatically

Any team that passes on Bamba is going to regret it. If I were going to give up a lot of assets to move up in the draft it would be for him. I'd figure out some way to play Ayton and Bamba together.

Modern day twin towers. I’d try it if possible, just not certain it would work in today’s nba. But the good news is that if it didn’t, but both played well, we could likely get a kings ransom for the one we wanted to ship out.

I'd do it if the Suns could figure out away to draft Ayton and Bamba.

It's more about getting the top talent in the draft and worry about positions later. The best player available philosophy should rule. I know such a trade is unlikely to happen but Bamba is going to be a headache as an opponent. And you are right. If the Suns draft talent they will always be able to get a nice return on their investment.

How are Ayton and Bamba that much different than Davis and Cousins? They don't have the skill those 2 do but I doubt they'd be better than those 2. That's a close pairing for them in the modern league and New Orleans were a borderline playoff team with those 2. Not a fan of that pairing. If the Suns can trade up, it shouldn't be to draft Bamba. Bamba may be Davis on defense one day, but not offensively. Ayton should be better than Cousins in time, possibly next year, but that's due to Cousins injury.

It would make more sense to take Doncic #1 and then trade up for Bamba.

I'll keep preaching it.

On film Bamba did little but rim protect and score easy, spoonfed baskets.

He didn't play with much hustle, he didn't play smart and he was a teeeeeerrible shooter.

The "measurable" freaks who movie up the board after wowing in an empty gym playing against a trainer are really really risky takes.

What scares me most was his lack of motor, how often he was behind the play or just wandering.

I think I still wouldn't take him before 7 or 8... and that's still only because of measurables. I really didn't like what I saw of him on the court.

Also, Dukes bigs completely destroyed him. They went ham on the defensive wonder.

I think Bamba will move up in the draft, perhaps right after Ayton. IMO the Suns would have a better chance to trade for Doncic or Young.

Suns.com has always worked fine for me, so I haven't looked elsewhere.

I don't know what the problem is for me. Maybe it's some protection on the browser or the antivirius. This is the only site where I have a problem. It plays but buffers.

McD is more complimentary of jjj than he was bagley/bamba, it seems like they view him higher.

There are a half dozen potential all stars at the top of this draft. The Suns get to pick one. Just got gotta hope they pick the right one.

So true. It's really frustrating getting only one bite at the apple.
