So two catches completely negates his entire season of bad play? It'll take a lot more than that for me to be convinced :D

Guess you didn't see the game...he was impressive today!

I watched the game. He was impressive in parts. He had 2 catches where he smoked the defender. The rest of his game was special teams. He had 2 awesome returns. Other than that he was back to his regular self. I do think he has great potential & think he will get better with experience.

I believe he's also has 4-5 TDs called back on penalties. Just remember, many rookie WRs struggle in year 1 then explode in year 2 or 3. I think the kid has superstar written all over him because of his speed & ability to shake defenders. But other factors are involved such as the performance of his QB & injuries.

I for one wasn't saying he wouldn't be good. I was just dead set against the Cards drafting him in the 1st rd. I mean seriously, 3 top 13 picks at WR on a team that doesn't have a good Oline or franchise QB is simply stupid.

His early season results will be mirrored throughout his career. A bunch of bad games will make him a bust but a handfull of big plays will keep him in the league. See Heyward-Bey.

See Heyward-Bey.

You're talking about comparing a guy who didn't do much in college & was over drafted because he was a track guy by a Raiders team that always reaches in the draft, to a guy who was practically unstoppable in college? Lol

I think he's gonna be a star, but even if he isn't I think his career will be much more successful than Bey's.

Like Bey, Austin will flash just enough to continue to get roster spots in this league but my guess is he will always under perform. He is just too small to physically win consistently in the NFL. Even today, in the best game of his career, 2 catches. We differ in opinion, but I am pretty confident in my personal opinion.

I agree, he will never reach the point where he is a consistent difference maker. Occasional big games with mediocre games sprinkled in between.

Imagine Austin in The Patriots, Broncos, Eagles, Packers, Bears offense. A QB, HC & OC who know how to use his skillset makes a difference. Not sure if Fisher & Schottenheimer have figured it out yet.

He might be minutely better but he still is just too small to work the middle of the field like he needs to. He gets knocked off too many routes too easily to be a consistent underneath threat. To me he is a poor man's Percy Harvin lacking Harvin's size.
