Same old Vince Young. Not impressed by him at all and I come away from this game thinking the Cardinals are going to crush the Titans next week.

The Texans are just weak. They have Andre Johnson but Schaub has continued to underperform. I lost track of how many underthrown and badly thrown balls he had tonight and it wasn't due to enormous pressure.

Also, Kris Brown just plain sucks. Two missed FG's was the difference in the game.

If Warner's got his marbles, Cardinals will win by 10+ next week.

Madness. TEN is a two point favorite in Vegas.

Its true that the first half against the rams was not competitive. We dominated them, and we might have won by fifty had Warner not been hurt.

But the Titans are far and away better than the rams. Better offensive and defensive lines. Better linebackers, and even better at RB.

We'll have to win a shoot out, and we have the fire power to do it. Their secondary is pretty average, and we should be able to run a little against their smallish d-line.

But they get good pressure just rushing four, and teams that can do that (like SF) give Warner trouble.

This game is pretty much a toss up. IF we play a great game, I guess we could win by two touchdowns. But we'll have to play well just to win. If we bring our "C" game, we'll be 7-4 on the way home.

And for anybody who thinks Vince Young has no chance to light up the Cardinals, I have two words for you....

I've read a lot of the posts on here about VY. All I can say is it is great to see him get a 2nd chance and take advantage of it. Actually he's not the only former longhorn making the most of a 2nd or 3rd chance. I thought ricky williams and cedric benson were afterthoughts as well, but they are playing very well.

I think VY has a chance to be a good QB in the NFL. He clearly had and still has a learning curve with reading defenses and throwing the ball. but he looked much better last night and that throw on the move was as good as you'll see a QB sling it on the run like that. I wouldn't say he has arrived and is one of the best QB's in the league. But it's way too early to completely write this guy off. Steve Mcnair took a few years to develop into a QB as well. with vy it will take time if he is ever a good QB. but so far he is hanging in there and is doing better than some of the other QB's from his draft class and ones picked that high in other classes(alex smith/russell etc).

as far as this game I see it being a close game going down to the wire regardless of who plays for AZ. the titans aren't going to blow the cards out, but they are playing much better of late. And for those not giving VY any credit and deferring it all to CJ...don't forget CJ was lighting it up at the beginning of the year as well and they were still losing games. Like their first loss to houston for example when kerry collins cost them the game late.

You can never know what to expect when someone like Vince Young seems to have regained his mojo and can beat you so many ways.

Then there's Chris Johnson - who's well on his way to 2,000 yards

And their 2 corners - Finnegan and Harper are back.

That said - if you check directional running tendencies, you'll find that the Cards rank very high in effectiveness running to their left and the Titan run defense sucks defending against offensive plays to the left.

Funny thing - I get a lot more nervous wondering if we're going to win games we should win (and games we're not sure of winning but need to win) but less so when we face a really tough opponent. Tennessee is going to be a tough nut to crack, but, for the previous reason, I'm less hung up about facing them than I would most other NFL teams.

this year's titans team sort of resembles their team when vince was a rookie. that year they were 0-7 or 0-8 starting out and they rallied to win their final 7 or 8 games and actually got into a playoff race late. VY was inserted in the 4th or 5th game that year and looked terrible. but they had chris henry who was lighting it up on the ground, VY was managing the game, and Pacman jones was scoring left and right on defense and special teams.

Keep in mind their four wins are against Jacksonville, Buffalo, the 49ers, and now Houston. Not exactly powerhouses and none of them are winning teams.

Actually, Jacksonville is 6-4. Houston before facing the Titans was barely a winning team at 5-4 but now is 5-5. San Fran as we all know is 4-6, and Buffalo is the only truly bad team in the bunch, at 3-7. But it's not as though all of their wins came against Detroit / Cleveland / St. Louis quality teams! And the fact that they've won 4 consecutive games speaks for itself. When's the last time the Cardinals did that??

I totally agree with this. Tennessee has been a decent football team for a decade. I would never underestimate them, and there is always a team the starts bad and ends up near 8-8 (Carolina, Tennessee, and Jacksonville seem to do this). It just looks like a good football game to me.

I get way more nervous about losing to divisional opponents and rolling over on national TV. Mainly because when the Cards beat a decent team there's little coverage, but when they lose in above fashion it becomes a story.

People here who use the argument that the Titans haven't really beaten anyone any good overlook that the Cards have only 1 win over a team with a winning record, the Giants, during their 6-1 run and the Giants were in the midst of a 4 game losing streak. Bears, Seahawks,St.Louis are a combined 8-22 and that's four of our 6 wins.

I never buy that "crummy team" wins argument anyway because in any given year 50-75% the teams in the NFL can be considered crummy but can still beat any other NFL team on the proverbial given Sunday. Any win in the NFL is a good win imo.

NFL ref high-fiving Tennessee Titans' Vince Young after victory?

“VinceTennessee Titans quarterback Vince Young(notes) has had some kind of weird season. After being benched for most of last season, he got to watch his team suffer through six straight losses to start the season behind quarterback Kerry Collins(notes). Supposedly, after much pressure from owner Bud Adams head coach Jeff Fisher finally said that he would put Young in as the starter. Fisher must be burning inside right now because Young has led the Titans to four straight victories.

The most improbable win came Monday night when the Titans were underdogs to the Houston Texans and came out with a 20-17 victory. There's a photo now circulating that appears to show "impartial" NFL ref Jerome Boger high-fiving Young after the game, according to the New York Post.

The NFL is denying it, of course. Here's the statement from the league: "It was not Jerome Boger's intent to exchange a high-five with the player. It began with the referee making the proper administrative signal and resulted in the appearance of an inappropriate action. As Vince Young took a knee on the game's final play, Jerome Boger jogged in with his right arm in the air to signify the play was over. That is the proper administrative signal for the referee. As Young turned around, he saw Boger approaching the line of scrimmage with his arm raised. As Boger moved toward the line of scrimmage, he started to bring his arm down. However, before he lowered his arm, Young, moving towards the referee, raised his own arm and the two exchanged what appeared to be a quick high-five."

They nail Chad OchoCinco for 25,000 for joking around about bribing an official. Then after two questionable calls in the Titans favor and this visual evidence, they try to 'splain' it away as nothing. I'm sure it was inadvertent on the officials part, but I don't blame Young for sharing the victory with the officials. It was a joint effort. Hope we don't draw that crew on Sunday.

this option gimmick crap will not continue to be successful in the nfl, the same way the wildcat stopped getting it done for the dolphins. it is just a matter of when teams start shutting it down. lets hope we can do it.

While I agree that the speed option isn't going to take over the league a la Wildcat, it will be successful in a select amount of games for the Titans because they are the only team in the league to have the athleticism at QB and HB to make it work. Young is best running starting quarterback in the league and very athletic and Chris Johnson is the fastest back in the league. They have the perfect set up since you have to respect both guys.

I think as long as the offense scores consistently we should be good to go.

lol...to me that win was VY's most impressive victory that year. the USC game was against a mediocre defense in a stadium filled with burnt orange. OSU has multiple nfl players from that squad that vince was facing. I think that was the best OSU team of late. they were probably a QB away from being able to defeat a texas or USC.

First of all I am not scared of Vince Young. He is gifted athletically, but has a two cent brain. He is a hot head that you apparently can get off his game. Why does he feel he need to get into it with the Texans at every opportunity? That fumble happened right after he got into with the Texans on the sideline. He tried to do too much.

Second the Titans have no wr to speak of.

Third the Titans have given up the most td passes in the entire league. Advantage Cards.

We all want to talk about what the Titans can do to us, but what about what we can do to them.

Can we lose this game? Absolutely, but there is nothing about the Titans that scares me more than any other team we've faced.

It's clear that vy has a personal vandetta against the texans because he thought for sure they would draft him. he has had his best games against them especially running the ball.

yeah they averaged 50 pts per game in the reg season like last year's OU team that pulled their annual choke job in the bowl. but they did finish the job against argueably the one of the best offensive teams in the history of CFB. when you look at that game..both USC and Texas were loaded with NFL players especially on offense. I think the entire offensive roster of USC made it to the NFL. and texas as well, even the young underclassmen like charles and sweed. of corse ramonce taylor went to jail lol. but even that years OSU team was loaded on both sides of the ball. That texas team was special. that lendale white stuff was just as key as the VY TD late.

the bad call was tressell rotating his QB's because they both got knocked out at the end of the game.
