Sorry, I meant to say that Episode 1 was free last month or around Christmas so I assumed it was still free.Looks like Ep 1 is $4.99. I'll probably splurge though.
Today, we’re continuing our commitment to give you more options to diversify and expand your library of games with Xbox Game Pass, a new gaming subscription service coming later this spring. Xbox Game Pass gives you unlimited access to over 100 Xbox One and backward compatible Xbox 360 games – all for $9.99 per month.
With great games from top industry publishers such as 2K, 505 Games, BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment, Capcom, Codemasters, Deep Silver, Focus Home Interactive, SEGA, SNK CORPORATION, THQ Nordic GmbH, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and Microsoft Studios, there’s something for everyone to enjoy and you will always find something exciting to play across a variety of genres. Some of the fan-favorite titles coming to Xbox Game Pass when it launches to the broader Xbox community later this spring include Halo 5: Guardians, Payday 2, NBA 2K16 and SoulCalibur II.
One of the best things about Xbox Game Pass is that you can discover and download the full titles directly on your Xbox One. That means continuous, full-fidelity gameplay without having to worry about streaming, bandwidth or connectivity issues. In addition, all Xbox One games in the catalog – and related add-ons – will be available to purchase at an exclusive discount for Xbox Game Pass members, so you can make the games you love part of your permanent library to play whenever you want. Every month new games will cycle into the subscription with some cycling out, giving you a constantly-updating library of games. Xbox Game Pass is your ticket to endless play.
Simlilar to EA Access, with more games but more expensive. I have a feeling though that most if not all the games are ones that have either been cheap on the XBox site in the past or free as part of Games With Gold.Introducing Xbox Game Pass: Unlimited Access to More Than 100 Games

it looks like games do rotate out over time however you would have a minimum of a full month with the game before it rotated out. It'll definitely depend on what games are included, but this could be a great deal... especially if they give discounts for annual subscriptions. Xbox Live 12 month subscriptions are supposed to be $60, but there are deals that bring it down into the $30-35 range every few months so if this is even remotely similar (say $100/yr regular price, but goes on sale for $60-70) then it could be a steal. I know I spend over $100/yr on games & I typically beat them & then move on to a new game... it's rare for me to ever go back to play an old game... even if new add-ons come out for it so owning games doesn't really have much of a draw for me anymore.
The only downside that I can see is if you're currently playing through a game & they remove it from the subscription. Hopefully, they'll just keep increasing the # of games without ever taking any away or at least give a few months of advanced notice before removing them.
I want the SWTCW: Republic Heroes but I can't tell if it's backwards compatible with the XBOne or not.
although at $5, I guess you could buy it and wait for it to be
Good point.
