Total bummer, was really looking forward to next season covering Carls conversion to Islam.
or at least bantering with his new friend, "hey look, over there, there is you 72 virgins...guess they decided to come get you"
..eh...
I dunno

Finally caught up. So that was it? Right back to where they started? This show has jumped the shark.

Jebus... did they drag that out or what?

The little Morgan story ended with a nice twist.

That last moment didn’t surprise me that much. They HAVE to do something different than just “Rick wins again!” at the end of this arc.

I told my wife, uh, I cared about Carl for the first thirty minutes. Now I don't give a spit. :bigyawn:

The Morgan stuff just seems very forced.

Rick didn't think to tell his son he's proud of how he turned out? That didn't occur to him? :slap:

I cared more about Carl in this one episode than I have the entire series. Neat trick the writers getting me to feel anything for a character that pretty much was annoying from jump.

Won't miss him and the impact was over as soon as the credits appeared.

The Negan insertion was a little much. No way can I see that situation resolve itself in a way to allow that.

Come on, Bone. These are the same writers who teased Eugene as some genius for his mysterious plan to get out of the compound, which ended up being... shoot all the zombies with guns.

yeah...you would think if they had the weaponry to do that it would have been plan A...
also,..when the sniper saw what they were doing...why pass up a wide open shot on four of the saviors fighters?? That plan could have been nipped in the bud in about 4 seconds.

my biggest disappointment with this series... apparently the saviors were the biggest menace ever in the comic books... but in the series, the writing and excitement level just tanked as soon as the saviors showed up. I have binge watched the series a couple times..and yeah...right when the saviors arc starts it just goes to poo

So many poor choices on so many levels... is there a new showrunner this year or something? Walking Dead has had its ups and downs but this season seems like a different kind of bad.
I just read that next season is getting a new show runner... that can only be a good thing.

Out of all the ridiculous stuff this season, I think that had to be the most ridiculous...

On the Talking Dead, they made it clear that it was Carl's "Peace, love, dove" dream.

I liked the episode even with the overlong Carl death sequences. I give them a mulligan on that. He was the longest playing character to bite the dust, was well liked by fandom, so ok.... give him the big sendoff.

Im sure it will all tie in too, I expect the guy he saved will play a big role in the future, that Rick will adjust his focus to defeating Negan but not massacring everyone possible in the meantime and etc.

So, whats up with bloody Rick at the end? Foreshadowing of him becoming wounded later?
