For some reason, I thought that very early on (when they were at CDC, maybe?) that learned that it had to be a bite to push someone over the threshold. I know for sure that everyone has the virus floating around in them and when they die, they will turn into zombies unless pithed. People get zombie blood in their eyes and mouth, but don't convert, but dried days old blood will push you over the threshold?

Sorry.... It's just really bad storytelling. Some of this is really beginning to feel like the Young and the Restless. I'm a BIG fan and it just kills me seeing them degrade the show like this.

The CDC was only that everyone is already infected, like the initial virus was airborne. The way things speed up from a bite has never been explained, my theory has always just been a rush of whatever the disease is causing immediate infection.

As far as the days old blood, it was from that day and Negan had a bucket full of fresh blood with his bat in it so I wouldn't be surprised if every vehicle has the weapons in fresh blood as they drove to the facility.

PS: this episode is a direct pull from the comic with a few tweaks, at least the attack was.

3 episodes left.

I expect next week we learn what is happening with Jadis and Negan right away. This leads into Negan and Simon reuniting for something brutal. Then the following episode the final battle begins and bleeds into the finale, ending the NEgan saga one way or another.

My prediction.

Degrade? The writing has been horrific on this show for years.

Still enjoying this season but the Negan thing was sooo predictable.

Although, I was rather impressed Jadis was able to raid a furniture store, get it all back to the junkyard and managed all that self installation with IKEA instructions in that storage unit.

Uh... how the hell did Negan get a gun, flare and those pictures?!

I figured they just skipped time a little and she had a bag on the floor with her stuff in it  it was rather fast

Maybe that is an IKEA helicopter?

Anyway, about that helicopter....wtf? Georgie? hmmm.

Carol and Morgan were excellent as usual last night.

I was surprised at Rick and Morgan breaking their promise. Not very Rick like. Oh and the Michonne/Rick love affair still seems forced and still makes Michonne seem weak.

and she just put all that stuff within distance of Negan to get it... and he was able to do so all tied up?

he was moving his cart he was laying on before it panned away so he must have scooted to it and he had enough room to move his hands. They could have shown it to make it more believable. id have to rewind and see what was laying on the floor again since they didn't show it.

My suspension of disbelief is legendary but I have to agree that that was the most ridiculous thing I have seen on the show yet. First of all, she leaves him on a rolling cart?! And then a gun, personal pictures, and a flare are all within rolling distance?! Hoo boy.

Well, based on the language she created, I don't expect intelligence. Seems like her whole capture of negan was a waste of time but I imagine the point was to show the helicopter, her room and to set up something for her post negan

Can this show just kill Eugene already?

It’s time. Eugene has become the next beyond annoying character that I just can’t stand.

Please kill him off. If they do another I am switching sides again I might puke!

Great episode, Eugene is annoying as can be and his getaway was kinda bunk but whatever. His vomit and run was pretty great. I laughed out loud.

Sad to see my favorite bad guy die, he is a great actor IMO. Even his zombie portrayal was awesome.

The fake plan delivered to Rick....its going to be a bloodbath this sunday. Looking forward to it.

Hopefully Gregory and Eugene both die. They need to go.

So tired of Negan smiling and chuckling. It's a nice smile, but it's literally filled three episodes' worth of screen time by this point.

Agree on Eugene and Gregory, although both are so pathetic that it would actually be pretty sad to see them meet a typical TWD end. Exile seems fitting for both. Wonder if Eugene is heading for a confrontation with Gabriel.

Despite all the foibles, the table is set for next episode. We'll see if Rick & Co. fall for the trap, and suspect that Dwight double-crossed them (and what role Tara will play in that). In the moment, we were probably meant to take Negan's "plans" for Dwight to mean a gruesome death, but I suspect it will have something to do with the offensive against Rick, with Dwight finding a way to sabotage it, possibly through self-sacrifice. But we should recall that his helping Rick has always been about revenge. He's not necessarily trying to protect Rick's community.

Well if they follow the comics Eugene will be around for a long time. I really hope this is one of the times they deviate. I want to see Eugene eat it. He annoys me that much.

That’s what I was referring to above by saying I hope this is an instance where they deviate. They follow some things and other things they don’t.

Apparently, that's this actor's schtick. I saw a preview for Rampage where he apparently plays the same bad guy style and flashes his pearly whites. Pretty much just looked like Negan transported to a different vehicle.

Morgan always feels like a guy who's too cool for school and doesn't realize he's kind of a joke. Not a fan of him in anything.

LOL! Eugene able to get away from Daryl (One of the best trackers in the group). Somehow he magically had enough time to completely cover himself in ash and leave no trace. PLEASE!

yeah I didn't like that. Even if he walked through the ash around the building, took off his shoes and came back under the ash, daryl would have noticed.

Plus no way he had time for that

My favorite of his will always be as Papa Winchester in Supernatural--that's the type of good guy he is great at. This over-the-top bad guy stuff is annoying.

The writers are definitely trying to humanize him, but they are so bad at it.
