Thats hilarious.

TWD Game has completely incepted you, and you dont even realize it. The flawless transition from Lee to Clem was so perfectly done that you think Clem was the "Rick" of the group.

Lee was Lee. I wont even say he was "Rick", because Lee is better than Rick.
But the genuine character development was so strong that Clementine became the new Lee. And thats how it should be.

Being the first character on the screen doesn't make you the backbone of the story. Clementine was the backbone the second she came onto the screen.

I made it through season one and lost interest in the game as I just didn't care about any of them, even clementine.

Although I always recommend it to others as it is done very well, just like the original show.

You play only the 1st season of the game, and tell me I dont have appreciation for characters? Jeez, all the points youve made are completely invalid. At least I watched 3 seasons of the show before stopping.

If youd played 3 seasons of the game, youd have a far different appreciation for Clem.

It won Game of the year, by the way. Going up against all these CODs and Halos and whatevers. This tiny little character driven game beat all of those blockbuster titles based on the strength of story.

You need to get out more. Comparing a tv show to a video game that frankly isn't that popular is the epitome of reaching. ESPECIALLY since you don't even watch the tv show.

Kardashians are pretty popular too.

popularity doesnt dictate quality

You brushing it off as "just a game" shows your ignorance to it. If you dont play games, thats fine. But dont criticize it if youve never seen it. Ive seen TWD, so I have grounds for an opinion.

TWD Game is more of a show, than a game. And its strength of characters and story are critically acclaimed in the video game community.

I played the first season, didnt feel attachment to it anymore and stopped.

The difference is, im not in a game thread, stating that I could pick it up in season 4 and it wouldnt matter. I know it would matter as I would have missed all of the development and would be at even more of a loss due to having zero character attachment. I wasnt feeling the characters after season one and had no motivation to play season two.

But im not discussing the game in a game thread saying season 4 will be stupid when i haven't even played seasons 2 and 3.

I know it won game of the year, it was well done. I dont hate the game, nor do I visit threads of the game bashing it when I havent played all of it.

that game is wildly popular but not compared to the show of course as more people watch tv than play games but in the gaming realm, that game was a really big deal at the time.

Im not even here to discuss the game. I only ever brought it up as an example of long-term story, and character development. Things TWD lacks. Notably character development. Based on the point of Rick dies, shows over. Theyve had 7 seasons to build up a main secondary character, and they havent.

Glenn and Daryl have been kept as side kicks. And Carl is so unlikable the viewers would never accept him as the new Rick.

Show needs to wrap up and end. Its quality has gone way downhill. 1st season was great. Thats why I watched for 2 more.

They had multiple main secondary characters, they died.

I think its funny that you have missed three seasons yet you think you have this solid, information based opinion on how the last 3 seasons have been.

Maybe you should watch them and then form an opinion. They were really, really good. I recommend it.

I have better knowledge than you think. Woodberry, govenor, prison, terminus, that preacher, that town with the old lady, probably some other forgettable stuff.

I know whats going on. Point is its the same tired stuff. The writers just put the group in new situations, but have no direction.

"Aimlessly wandering around looking for safety and running into situations" is not a story arch.

That story arch changes dramatically in this season, just like in the comic.

Anyone interested in comparing it to the comics, here is a good place to read the entire series online:

http://www.readcomics.tv/the-walking-dead/chapter-1

From the drop-down you can select any issue from 1 to 159, so far.

I am way behind on the comic trying to avoid even slightly understanding what is to come. I bought the first compendium that ends around the prison. I never really get around to reading it unless I am on airplanes but man does it make those flights go by quickly.

Great. It needed it.

Doesnt change my point that seasons 3-now have been repetitive and aimless.

If theyve finally found a story, good for them.

you could start it now moving forward but it wouldnt be the same. A big part of the show is character development and by missing that, you are less invested in the life and death of the characters so it wouldnt be the same.

Killing rick would likely end the show, to say it wouldnt match the lead character in the game (who died) doesn't make much sense.

I think the only character that show can't kill off is Daryl. It'd survive killing Rick.

I love me some rick, id follow regardless if either one of them died but it would definitely feel weird after losing either one.

I so cannot wait for this next episode.

This last episode hit a ton of people like a brick. I finally talked to my neighbors. They are huge fans. He told me his wife didn't talk for the rest of the night. He said it was just so brutal the way they died. They sort of echoed what others have said and what I felt. We are all used to Zombie related deaths. However, the brutality of Negan was hard to watch even if we all knew what was coming.

it was brutal but IMO this is all a case of people who are not normally into horror getting sucked into the show because it is not always horrifying. I have seen far worse a million times over. I will say that a lot of it was brilliant in my mind, as a horror buff I thought it was absolutely top notch.

I liked it, it was a good break from the horror from the first episode.

I also really liked the character of King Ezekiel--they did a good job of making him interesting and while I spent the whole episode wondering how evil he would turn out to be--by the end, I thought he was that rare instance of a leader who isn't a complete psychopath who has the same dislike for Negan's men as we as an audience do.

But I am looking forward to what Carol and Morgan do when they find out what happened to Abraham and Glenn. And Daryl.

I like the touch with the why do they let pigs eat the dead vibe it gave you for a bit. It's nice to see Morgan and carol, with the group's losses those two are far more important than ever.

So, a few things I am pondering:

Who is still in alexandria with Judith? Carols "boyfriend"? I dont rememeber who stayed back but it seems our group was meeting the saviors or at the kingdom, not still at alexandria.

Does Jesus know about the kingdom? Will he be how rick and the gang find it?

Carol seems to be coming around to the kingdom but she is good at manipulating things. She ran off on her family, why stop and stay here? Maybe her and morgan go get the group.

Morgan hates the saviors, he doesn't even know how bad they are yet. when teaching the kid martial arts, he is no longer promoting the no murder narrative. It looks like he will finally turn the corner which is much needed at this point.

The kingdom people seem hokey and weak, hopefully they prove that to be completely wrong as there is going to have to be a solid base of good guys if Negan is ever going to be taken down.

I am guessing the next episode will be negans camp, maybe some backstory on it and what is happening with Daryl before we go back to ricks group.

I havent seen a trailer for the new episode yet so just guessing.
