love this show........ the ending to the season premier was just ****ing brutal....but I loved the symbolism....

Come on God, I don't need answers, just give me a sign!!
enter cute velvety dear that apparently is going to let the kid pet him.....
BLAM!!! random gunfire through the kids chest....

Dude,...God answered.....yer all gonna die.

too much of the lead talking by himself... those scenes are horrible IMO. The zombie herd was great and i really wanted that annoying son dead, so I was happy when he got shot.

and man, did that chick break off the old man something fierce. i almost felt bad for the imaginary man on TV.

ok premiere... some really good stuff, some boring, some overly earnest (any monologue to himself by the cop). no need for a 90 minute opener IMO. will keep watching definitely though.

Just got done with watching it on AMC.com.....and it was kinda painful. It started out just fine, for the first 45mins, but then it got extremely sluggish. Combine that with commercial breaks that were longer than the actual show, and the hook kinda lost me. if i werent watching on my computer, i probably would have turned it off.

There was a lot of filler that made this 90mins....and it could have easily been an hour long.

I've cancelled my season pass. All in all, I think I'd rather watch Laverne and Shirley reruns (and I hate that show). I loved the pilot episode and had such high hopes for this show but it's just a joke now, IMO. Some great moments but not enough to put up with the direction this show is heading. If this is their second season equivalent of the pilot, I predict at least half of it's viewers will be gone for good by midseason. By the end of this episode I was cheering for the zombies.

I really hope that the kid wasn't shot by the man and son the cop was with in the 1st season. They showed him talking into the walkie talkie to them hoping they still had it on. I think that would be too much.

I thought it was a good episode. I am not a fan of the lead actor. His accent is awful and he is the least interesting character in the group. Otherwise it is still a decent show. Nothing great.

I'd probably agree with that. My problem was that it had a touch of greatness in the beginning and I can't help but compare subsequent episodes to that stellar start. Maybe if I'd had lower expectations I wouldn't be so critical of where it is now.

The one thing that I don't get is that they've yet to show a pack of zombies kill and eat a human. They've shown zombies eating a horse and a dog but not a human.

What don't you get about it? Humans are probably a lot harder to catch, and any one who is still alive probably knows what they need to do to kill a zombie.

I would think it would be easier to catch a human than a dog. I still need to watch the premier but I'm to busy play 'Space Marine' on my Xbox!

So after a whole season the zombies have yet to catch one human?

Yes they have. It was either the last or 2nd to last episode when the group lost half of their people in an ambush by the zombies. Remember the blond woman lost her sister?

I think one of the reasons there are so few humans left is that lots of them have been caught.

This show is horrible. The acting is horrible. I figured I would give the second season another shot after vowing to not waste another moment based on season 1. Season 1 was somewhat entertaining, but Season 2 is just a soap opera. Hard to believe this is what took over Breaking Bad time slot.

I was very disappointed with last nights episode. Boring doesn't describe it. Even the mission to get the medical supplies was stupid and not too well thought out:

The 2 guys(Shane and the guy who shot the kid) go to the high school to get medical supplies they need for surgery on the kid. The approach the school and Shane has an idea to throw lit flares to draw the ghouls away from the medical trailer. It works. However, upon leaving the trailer, they don't think to use the same tactic to get away? Pretty weak writing just to garner some drama.

I'm loving this show. I started watching because of this lengthy thread. There are some spots of bad acting and poor plots, but compared to Terra Nova it's Emmy worthy.

And compared to the Suns the Cards are well managed. Still, I'm not happy with Cards management nor am I happy with this show. Did you see the pilot? Great episode but it's been downhill ever since. I have to say, this is really starting to piss me off. I love the idea of shows such as Terra Nova, Falling Skies and Walking Dead but I've given up on all three of them. I guess I should have never watched Doctor Who because now I seem to demand more from my fantasy and sci-fi.

Anyone else notice the blue meth in this episode? I guess we know how Breaking Bad ends.

Yep. I'm very close to not watching this anymore. Problem is, this may become the highest rated show on AMC if it isn't already. Will we ever see more intelligent original shows like Mad Men and Breaking Bad if the dumbest shows keep getting the highest ratings?

agreed....absolutely NOTHING happened...just a bunch of whining and crying.

and yeah, it will probably be one of their highest rated shows.....ONLY because of its seasonal slot. Halloween is a time for shows like this, and they generally do pretty well even if they are garbage.

I'll still watch but I am having serious doubts that this show is sustainable. So far we are 2 hours into a season and nothing has happened. A kid gets lost and a kid gets shot yet they are in the exact same spot they were when this season started. I don't mind shows moving slowly but you have to advance the story. I will say that the main character was great this episode. He hasn't been my favorite character but I was genuinely impressed.
