This is true. After all, it was only Rick whom Jenner told at the CDC. Though surely survivors have noticed that dead people turn even when not bitten. Gareth told his crew it was okay to eat "tainted" Bob because they cooked it, and I guess he was right?

But also, the pigs have to eat something. If Negan's group is already taking a portion of your food as tribute, why use more of what you have left to feed the pigs when they like walkers just fine? The risk, though, is that Negan's group finds out – so another reason for Ezekiel to keep it secret from the wider population.

I was going to mention the cdc but I also assume that people have figured out that death = turning, regardless of bites.

Feeding them zombies instead of their own food makes sense and feeding them the zombies just to make them appear that they were grown in the kingdom makes sense too.

As far as tainted bob, they all got murdered before we could find out but they probably knew better as they have been eating people for a while at that point.

Why feed the pigs at all? Who cares, if they are ending up at Negan's anyway?

Except maybe Negan's group wants fattened pigs.

after reading chickenheads theory, i am thinking they have pigs but to not give up their own farm raised pigs, they round up city pigs and feed them on walkers so they appear to be farm raised pigs without giving up their own supply.

To me, that makes the most sense. The fact that it happens to be walkers they are feeding on is basically irrelevant.

made us debate the show a bit though :) maybe that was the purpose.

Although when I saw them eating walkers, I thought their community was some screwed up stuff where they feed their animals walkers before eating them!

Yeah, as bucolic as The Kingdom may be, rationing against potential starvation is undoubtedly top of mind. To paraphrase Ezekiel, Negan takes from the well, but he does not replenish it. Why should he get corn-fed hogs?

I'll be the first to say it:

Negan is lame.

He's not scary and his dialogue seems like it's written for a thirteen year old.

Love Negan. Was pretty bored with this episode but know why they had to do it.

When people ask why I still follow this thread, it's for stuff like this. How people can make such blanket excuses is so very fascinating to me. Here and on Facebook, I'm hearing everything from it was soooo boring to it sucked balls, AND YET most people still defend it. You don't have to write an entire episode of boring TV. You really, really don't. There's no reason for doing that. None. People watch because it's water cooler TV; statements like the above continually affirm that for me.

Im not impressed by Negan. Hes not scary. Hes too silly for his own good. You can be silly and scary; Heath Ledgers Joker is a perfect example.

So far this actor hasnt found the balance yet.

and i'm just having a hard time believing a man-child could dominate the world like this.

uh... then again, Donald Trump is probably going to win at least 42% of this country's vote if not more, so...

I imagine every single person in that compound has suffered serious anguish by his hands. The rest likely died prior.

It masses me want to rewatch last season with the "I am negan" stuff plus I didn't recognise Dwight's wife

So, I didn't find it boring at all

I wanted to know the face story on Dwight, I can see Dwight breaking rank and helping Daryl after hearing that story.

Negan apparently will either destroy everything inside you until you are his bitch or are killed. I can see it being effective but also at some point backfiring on him and a confidant stabbing him in the neck.

It's going to get hairy from here. I wonder if next week will go back to Rick and the group, I assume the goal is back to getting Maggie to the hilltop for medical attention.

Not every episode can or needs to be fast paced, I was looking forward to learning about his compound and how things work, got a good taste of it.

What's the deal with this prisoners wrestling the zombies? Are they just tasked with putting the newly dead out there as a way to deter intruders?

I am not reading the comic, but was wondering if Negan's cruelty will ultimately be his downfall? The dissenters who hate him slowly grown in numbers and courage and they ultimately help Darryl take him out.

I sure hope so because I am getting sick of watching Negan and his tactics. Like taking that dude's wife, that is some cruel gruel.

He's one sick puppy. That story about Dwight's wife was brutal. It'll work out in Daryl's favor though I am thinking.

I thought Negan was good in his debut in last season's finale, and good (if long-winded) in this season's debut, but I do agree with the comments above about him being too silly this past episode, and not particularly mysterious or menacing. I mean, the scene where he comes around the corner with his bat and everyone kneels...it was just kind of funny. It sort of reminded me of being a kid playing video games, and wondering what the bad characters were doing the rest of the time. In this case, apparently just walking around with a baseball bat.

We know he's broken these people, because we've been told, and we've seen what he did to Rick's gang (with the backing of all his men). But as a point of comparison, I found Ramsey much more frightening in Game of Thrones. E.g. When Yara and the Iron Born were trying to break Theon out, Ramsey was at the head of his men, without armor.

It won't stop me from watching; it just requires some suspension of disbelief. Like when Dwight caught up to the runaway, who points out that there's one of him [Negan] and many of them - Dwight's answer wasn't convincing, even with the knowledge of what happened to him. But of course, maybe Dwight is biding his time for revenge.
