Interesting stats with Daboll. Did he all of a sudden figure it out or is it Allen? My gut says its Allen.

On the flip side - Greg Roman seems much more accomplished:

How do NFL teams continue to get this so wrong? The HC is the face of the franchise and arguably the most important role.

22 HC's have been fired (out of 32) in the past 3 years (2018-2020). We have two of them obviously.

2018 - 7 openings and 3 have been fired already. Nagy barely (pun intended) made it past this year. Gruden is getting 100m and both Vrabel and Reich look legit.

2019 - 8 openings with 2 fired already (2 more on life support Taylor and Fangio). Brian Flores and Matt LaFleur look to be great hires. BA is always solid. Plenty of opinions on this board about KK.

2020 - 7 more openings and odds are 4-5 failures.

Looking at the head coaches these 15 people replaced and you will also see a scary list of failures:

John Fox
Ben McAdoo
Steve Wilks
Hue Jackson
Vance Joseph
Adam Gase
Todd Bowles
Dirk Koetter

Significant front office turnover indicates one reason why those coaches didn't work.

Antiquated thinking another.

A lack of patience another.

Taking a job that isn't a good job and being set up to fail is another.

A lot goes into it and those guys are then compared to guys like Andy Reid who have been in the league for years.

It is the same with QB. If your standard is a top 16 QB, then the other 16 are destined to be replaced.

He actually could work with what we need and what he is trying to establish himself as.
