I think it's pretty clear by picking Denver that the whole AFC vs NFC thing was a pretty big deal and he picked a team in the weakest conference in the AFC.
I agree and I think both denver and tennessee were offering more money perhaps? than SF? I could see SF trying to sign manning to a lower contract because of the circumstances there.

really denver has some stability there with elway and they were in the second round of the playoffs in spite of tebow. this might just be the best overall situation for peyton.

I thought tennessee made more sense, but at the end denver is probably a better team right now for peyton. peyton is already a God in Tennessee. he can now become a god in colorado...

To me it makes absolutely no sense what so ever. I mean Denver?!?!? Really? Their defense is so overrated. Their weather is bad..and the teams in the division and on his schedule have bad weather. He has no receivers...They led the league in dropped balls. The running game was a mirage...because teams couldn't key on the RB because Tebow might keep the ball and head the other way. The Tebow effect. I mean he is Manning...but don't under estimate how loved Tebow was ...he was almost Jesus like in the way he energized the city. There are alot of fans pissed right now...Guarantee it.

I think this is why I am even more convinced the Cards screwed up. If WHiz and company went hard after him and Larry Fitzgerald was involved. I think we had a great shot. The stupid Kolb time table gave Manning a thought of...I can't make my decision that fast, so why even consider them...(Even though I really like them)

Dumb DUmb move by everyones part. LOL...Think about it...DUmb how we handled it, dumb decision by Manning, and really dumb move by the 49ers...trying to be sneaky and now may have Tebow as their QB. lol

If the Cards were in the AFC, I think he would have signed here.
From a purely objective standpoint, the Niners would have given him the best shot at a Super Bowl. He was even reported as saying that his head was telling him to go to SF but he followed his heart to Denver. People here downplayed it but I really believe the AFC/NFC thing was much higher up on his list than anyone thought.
I really do believe the Manning family wants to see an all Manning Super Bowl and as small the chances are of it happening, it would have been completely impossible if Peyton was in the NFC.
The money he's going to get from Denver didn't hurt either.

I agree. The Cards were likley his 2nd choice and only because they were in the NFC. It's not too hard to figure out his pecking order, just go by the order in which he visitied teams. It was two team race from the get go with Denver and the Cards. The other visits were more courtesy, or kicking the tires visits and no real interest.
