???

I keep seeing this version of events on non-Cardinal boards, and I can understand it there, but have Cardinal fans themselves forgotten how things went down?

I changed it immediately after rereading it after I posted.:(

I was going to suggest someone should ask Boldin because he's not here and more free to talk.

.

If true, it really makes me mad because we should have cut bait when there was some value. Gross mismanagement, regardless of the politics of the entire thing. GROSS mismanagement and an unecessary PR hit.

I believe it's true, always have and yes it at best is a PR and roster disaster.

It's not so bad that Whiz and Matt can't work together, while somewhat of a shame that misses the point, it happens.

What it says to me is our FO and Whiz are not on the same page enough to work this out in a way that is the least harmful to the team.

This IMO could obviously have been handled other ways, ways that would of benefited all parties and most importantly got the team value and not wasted roster money.

I dont see anything that says its personal. Just says that they dont have a relationship. Glazer also came out and said that Matt didnt have one with Warner either. Sounds to me like Matt is the issue. Who cant have a relationship with Kurt?

You're talking about Kurt Warner right? The vast majority of the team had no relationship w/ him. Don't you recall hearing how pissed he was when he invited the team over for a barbeque and a handful of guys showed up?

So Boldin steps out and says it's personal. Pretty much what I figured. Shane??

good grief... the guy who hates our organization/head coach throws the coach under the bus and we're supposed to take him at his word?

Where does he say it's personal? How do we know he's not just referring to Matt's work ethic and inattention to detain? I was occasionally accused of playing favorites but it was never truly personal for me. I favored those employees that worked hard and tried to excel at every task assigned them.

Steve

seriously.

I like Kurt, but seem to recall a barbecue at his house a few years back when very few of his teammates showed up.

i remember that too, but that was the year PRIOR to him having success here and was in the middle of Matt v. Kurt 2. I wonder how that changed after the Super Bowl.

If things turn out as we suspect, Mitch was absolutely right in stressing that this whole issue should have been dealt with early in the offseason.

All of the to-and-fro has left us with AD going into this season.

Wouldn't Jason Campbell been a better option when he was being shopped, or Donovan McNabb?

And given what Seattle paid for Whitehurst, don't you think that a similar deal could have been brokered with Seattle to reunite Matt with his old coach?

Some will say, that you don't trade within the division; but why not, if the price is right and you've already concluded that Matt is substandard?

And this delay also affected how we viewed, and addressed the QB situation in the draft.

Graves and Whiz both received new deals in the offseason, speaking to the high regard for both by the Bidwill's. It seems to me, that they could have used some of this cachet to deal with the Matt problem.

I'm having a hard time finding the proper phrases or words to describe this situation, but they would range in the opposite of forward planning; competent management, and being straightforward.

this is my biggest beef and why I still feel darkness inside of me in regards to the Franchise as a whole. I still think we take a passive, hope it all ends well approach to very important decisions (not just with Matt, but with Hayes back, depth at CB for example).

I love Wiz and I'll give Graves credit for finding some true gems in the draft, but he and the Bidwills still give me pause for thought on a lot of different things.

On the other hand, do you think that David Carr is punching his agent in the nuts right now for the choice to go to San Francisco?

I'm not sure that the situation would have changed our draft strategy. John Skelton was the sixth quarterback taken after Bradford, Tebow, Clausen, McCoy, and Kafka. Would we have taken any of those guys? I'm not sure.

It seems like Whisenhunt is playing without a net, but his net is that big new contract he got last February. He has job security and can shake up the roster this offseason in a way that he may not have been able to do in seasons previous. The last holdout was perhaps the front office wanting to see what it had been paying for in #7. #7 made a choice on Monday to make that impossible (probably).

We sure seem to generate a lot of those type players. But I would guess every organization does it just is magnified in Arizona because of all the losing seasons.

Simeon Rice called the Cards the armpit of the NFL. The franchise responded by losing 72 games over the next 7 seasons after Rice left. :(

I can understand Matt's feelings, but, frankly, he played right into Whiz's hands. One more thing to make the case that ML is not really a team guy; nor really with the program, etc., etc.

If they did everything the way you think it should be done, I'd be scared to death.:D

So. You always thought things were wonderful when the Cards were going 3-13 and getting outscored 443-210. :p

So you wouldn't have a problem trading RG for Cheese?:D

I know one thing... I sure as hell wouldn't have drafted Levi Brown over... can of worms opened in... 3... 2... 1...
