I doubt they sit Leinart.

If he maintains his last place QB ranking for very long, Whisenhunt might have to. At least for a game or two. If you expect guys to take your "accountability" rap very seriously, you can't exempt the QB if he's losing you games.

His rating wouldn't be so low were it not for the end of the game INT that was meaningless.

He was terrible last night, I won't dispute that. But he came through when he needed to. Benching him would be a real mistake.

Hey, I agree with that. I'm just saying if the season turns into a nightmare of a start (like 0-4 or 1-4) and he's still having a hard time, he might have to.

I hope to God it's not necessary to bench Leinart at any point. It would be very, very bad for this franchise.

Did you even read what I wrote? The Coaches have to put the players in position to win.

Our second to last offensive series and SF's last offensive series were terrible decisions by the Coaches.

What game did you see? With three minutes left, San Francisco's POS offense had to drive 86 yards for a touchdown. I'd say that that would be qualified as "putting ourselves into a position to win".

And, then they promptly didn't blitz the first three plays and played soft zones letting the Niners breeze up to midfield and get their confidence up.

Still, there were opportunities for players to step up and get it done. They didn't. It was a thorough team loss, both players and coaches.

I wasn't saying that the coaches get a free pass (no one did last game IMO), I would've liked to see the offense open up more and have a little bit more trickery and ingenuity to the play call. But when all is said and done, our players were in a position to win the game and they simply couldn't execute. There wasn't any DG esque boneheadery on the sidelines.

It was a mistake by a first time HC. He will make some along the way. I would have loved to see him get his first W, but it is what it is.

We almost got away with a flat game. Not quite.

IMO Lienart couldn't get going because of the great coverage the Niners had. There will be ajustments made. Whiz is a very smart guy. We were close on the road, an emotional day for all. Our defense played very well except for the last prevent us from winning drive caused more by defensive play calling.

It was rare when Q or Fitz were open. Lienart forced a couple of balls but they were covered like a fly on.... The running game was good. I agree that as we play together under this system it's just us likely to win 9-10 games. I'll always be a kool aid half full type of person. Until it's proven on the field that we can't be a winning team I will keep my head up.

Everyone should feel the way they want too. I just can't get all that caught up on the game as it is just that. Most of the time I'm entertained. But compared to say life and death, war and peace the amount of wins remains low on lifes scales. I love my Cards and will root for them till I lay at rest.
