If the NBA suspended players for elbows then Kobe wouldn't have played many games in the Lakers series. I didn't see if Marion made contact with the elbow or not. It looked like he was trying to break free of Griffin, who was holding onto him and didn't want to let go. I think this play happened just before the Raja-Howard incident and D'Antoni was complaining about why a Technical wasn't called against Griffin for the extended contact on Marion, yet Raja got one after the whistle and that's why D'Antoni got his technical.


The funny thing in their posts is that they say they don't want Marion suspended because they want to beat the Suns when they're at full strength.....

Come on Carnage.....did you even read the posts on that page? Almost every person commenting, doesn't think he deserves a suspension. Are they discussing it? Sure, but just as one post says, it's nothing more than TNT sensationalism. Go back and read the page and you'll see what I mean!

that's just sad that you would post that. you do realize we got guys here wanting to suspend terry for swiping at the ball?

everyone's reaching for advantage's right now. the games have been well played for the most part, so lets just enjoy the remainder of the series, whatever the outcome...

I can understand mavs fans talking about it because their owner is the one that wants Marion suspended for the play. I hope he does send the tape in and that the league determines that Griffin should get a technical for the extended contact with Marion after the whistle was blown.

That's possible, but really I think the whole thing is little to do about nothing. They were playing basketball for goodness sakes. Stuff like that happens every night in the NBA. My guess is, nothing comes of it (either way), frankly nothing should!

I agree, the contact was extended on the play and the refs called a regular foul, which is what it should've been. The same thing happens on the other end and it leads to 2 technicals.

You know, even on the replay I didn't see anything that warranted a T on Bell, unless he said something we couldn't see. I suppose it's possible, as they were saying on TV that it was because Bell pushed him after he was already whistled for the foul. The same thing happened on Jet's T, he got called for the swipe on Nash, after being whistled for his foul. Maybe that's where the "T" came from. Who knows, if the refs were more consistent, we would all know what happened.

But, coach "D" caused the other "T", not the play on the court. I fully understand taking up for your player, and doing what you feel is necessary. But if it's true the "2" technicals were the turning point, maybe coach miscalculated on that decision and should have tried a different strategy. But he's the NBA coach, not me! Nonetheless, very entertaining series thus far, albeit very nerve racking!

Right, but most probably agree that Marion/Griffin were incidental/unintentioal, so that's what makes a thread dedicated to suspending Marion funny.

However Terry's swipe was intentional and he has a history of going after free/lose balls ;-).
Personally i don't think there's any reason to want Terry suspended but it's intentional actions like that, that can lead to more shoves/fights with this series getting more and more testy each game.

After reading the thread, seems like most people thought a suspension was uncalled for, typical media hype is all it was, nothing more. Calling for Terry's suspension is about as ridiculous as calling for a suspension on Thomas because he tried to swipe the ball out of Dirk's hand when play was stopped. People get so caught up on the officiating and suspension drama, thanks to stupid people like Stu Jackson.
