Crawled Through 5 FB Fields
1. Aaron Murray, Georgia. I like his temperament, his command and his arm, but I do not think he is NFL ready, just yet. They have a heckuva team coming back next year talent-wise, imo, he should stay put and try to win it all.
The back shoulder throw he made up the left sideline on third and long, had me thinking that he and Fitz could work very well together. The TD throw to the TE had me thinking Housler and the deep pass had me thinking Roberts and Floyd.
The interception down the middle had me thinking of the recent wave of Cardinal QBs.
2. Collin Klein, Kansas St. Of any college QB I have watched this year, he is my favorite to watch. When it comes to toughness, he is in a class all by himself. He is the ultimate scrapper and competitor. But, as a passer, he's not pretty, although he threw an excellent deep ball last night. He's a better runner than Kaepernick, but Kaepernick has the better arm.
When you see how difficult it is for QBs to hold up physically in today's NFL, you really need a guy who is both physically and mentally tough. Klein is all of that and more...but so is Tebow. The question is: can Klein throw with success in the NFL? He will need the right coach and the right system---and I think anywhere he goes his teammates will love him.
3. Marcus Mariota, Oregon. He is the most naturally gifted college QB I have seen this year. He's got good size, arm strength, speed, focus and accuracy. He can do it all. I am amazed at his poise and his innate understanding of the game---but obviously he has embraced the coaching he's received from Chip Kelly. Keep in mind, he's only a freshman.
4. A.J. McCarron, Alabama. Obviously he needs another year in college...but I like his size and his arm---that go route TD he threw was a thing of beauty.
Other Players:
5. RB Eddie Lacy, Alabama---what a load and what wheels to go with. Love the freshman T.J. Yeldon too---same with Georgia's freshman RB Todd Gurley.
6. LBs Jarvis Jones and Alex Ogletree, Georgia. I'd love to see either one of them in Cardinal red. They both would be excellent fits in Horton's defense. They get to the ball in a hurry and they can finish.
7. OLB Xzavier Dickson, Alabama. Strong side OLB played big last night---he's in the Steeler OLB mode because he's 6-3, 262, can dominate the edge and can bull rush his way to the QB.
