I think we all agree including Book in the deal would be laughable and i wrote this thread on throwing the house at Zingis.

The only reason some people may tout Zingis as more valuable than Booker is because the Suns arent on the national stage and Book is not 7'3 flashy.

Zingis is a better defender but Booker has no injury questions (knock on wood) and is a much more accomplished scorer and passer at this point.

To my recollection, the Melo piece was one in a long line of PR articles Rosen has written on behalf of his pal Phil.

I quit reading Rosen articles back when he worked for FoxSports.com and he would alternate taking shots at Shaq and Kobe during Jackson's time as the Lakers coach. He writes probably 2-3 articles a year about how "insert team" would be so much better if they implemented the triangle offense also. The guy is a hack of the highest order. I'm surprised he's still around.

Same Rosen?

Grr, why does the board keep screwing with my Amazon link?

Go to Amazon and lookup "Cockroach Basketball League."

Adding KP sounds great.
Giving up 3 or 4 of our top assets to get him, not so much.

If the Suns give up 2 starters AND the #4 pick for him does that make them better than they were last year?

Bidding war between the Celtics and the Suns. The problem is that the Knicks want Jackson. So if the Celtics win the bidding war, the Suns lose out on Porzingis AND the opportunity to draft Jackson.

Even with multiple suitors the knicks are negotiating from a position of weakness. The celtics and suns don't NEED porzingis. They both want him. So they will negotiate against each other, but only to a point. When the asking price gets too great they can just say "no thanks" and get back to business as usual, drafting a player high in the draft and continuing to develop their young talent. That leaves the knicks with an already disgruntled young star who has now been actively shopped, likely damaging their relationship further. That's not to say it's irreparable, but it's worse. So knicks have to careful not to overplay their hand in putting celtics and Suns against each other and getting too greedy. If they see a good deal, they gotta take it imo.

If all things were equal in packages offered to the Knicks by the Celtics and Phoenix I think PJ would take the Phoenix deal. The Celtics might have to give up a little more because they're in the same division and PJ hates the Celtics. Also the Celtics have an embarrassment of riches at this point which may work against them in a deal if they're not willing to part with some of their better ones or hold back too much.

Yeah, if Phil doesn't pull the trigger he just poured a tank a gas on his dumpster fire of a team.

A few things to add, this is from Tim Montemayor who hosts a daily show on 1580am...

Apparently a deal is close to happening with KP.

This one is good for reassurance, no Booker and no future picks...
xc_hide_links_from_guests_guests_error_hide_media

This is better, no Booker and only one young player plus 1 vet for Porzingis.

And to add to how inept Jackson has been..

Chad Ford just told Bickley that the Knicks have "painted themselves into a corner" and he does not see how they could bring Porzingis back.

That is where patience pays off. Had the Suns jumped at this when things first became public they would have spent more. The longer it's taking the more they're screwing with their relationship with KP. Bidding against Boston is interesting because McD is familiar with how they do things there which could help us get something done in a way that keeps them from upping their offer. Also it won't be easy for Jackson to play us against them because McD and Ainge have a good relationship and I'm sure they can see through an lies thrown out there in attempt to up our offer.

My point exactly. Now it's in phil's best interest to accept the best offer currently on the table.
