Just a few Card items from MJ:

1. As mentioned on another thread the Cards are thinking about moving Dansby to the weak side so they will need a SSLB.

2. The top 2 areas of focus in free agency will be OT and DL. Cards want to get bigger and stonger inside on the DL, especially to focus on run stopping.

3. Looking at Ian Scott of the Bears for DL help

4. Looking for depth not starters at CB and Safety. New staff feels that the problem with the corners was not the talent, but the coaching of the Corners by Solomon, who in their opinion did a horrible job. New staff is NOT down on Rolle and feel with the right coaching he will be a very good player and solid starter.

5. Francisco will start

6. Looking for an experienced TE to push Pope and start. Possibilities are Eric Johnson of SF and David Martin of Green Bay.

7. Want to make the Fullback position a much higher profile position in their offense and are looking for an excellent blocking FB. Brian Leonard of Rutgers could be drafted by the Cards in a fairly early round.

8. Looking for a good return man in the draft, not in FA

MJ stated in his opinion, Orlando Huff should be let go and that the staff is going to meet with Big, face to face, soon which will play a huge part in determining his future with the team......

I heard Hood on Sirius and he wants a chance at starting. We could waive that in front of him, but some other teams may be able to guarantee a starting spot.

I think Leonard is more of an H-Back type than a traditional FB.

I didnt see too much of Ian Scott to excite me from the Bears but I also read into DT Alan Branch may be targeted if he wants to get bigger inside on the DL.

First, we need to find a DL Coach.

I hope they are right but I still have reservations about Rolle. Don't believe he is the answer at corner. Green has showed signs of being able to do it. Hopefully coaching can help him.

have to add denny to that if he forced cp to play rolle back all the time.

Honestly, I don't care if Rolle and Green will excel with the new coaches, I think it is a mistake not to pursue the top corners in FA. You can NEVER have too good of a secondary...never. And a great secondary makes your Dline look twice as good.

No, a great D-line makes your secondary look better than it is. Just ask the Philadelphia Eagles. The best corners are going to look good regardless, but aside from those, it's cheaper and easier to get better pass rushers than it is to get better corners.

Agreed, if we don't upgrade at corner, our biggest weakness last year, we'll have major problems at that position next year. Also, I don't understand the love for Ian Scott, the Bears d-line got absolutely dominated by Indy, including Scott. I think we have decent young talent at tackle, and if anything, need an upgrade at end.

I agree we need to upgrade the CB position but we also need more pressure from the front 4...especially the DE's.

Do you honestly believe that? Not a DG apologist by any stretch of the imagination but I have a hard time believing that a coach who delegated seemingly everything put in his two cents regarding secondary coverage and nothing else.

Both viewpoints are correct, but given the choice of great DL and average corners, or average DL and great corners, I'll take the latter. Like you said, it is cheaper and easier to get pass rushers, so great corners have a far more tangible impact on the game...especially against quick release QBs.

Also, same goes for Davis if he's allowed to leave.

You can't let starters go and then not look for starters to replace them and expect to be successful, IMO.

Thx for this. I didnt hear any of it.

What I get out of this, is that Whiz is gunna make this team physical on both Lines. That is the single best thing I could of heard. Everything starts & ends at the LOS...

This also makes me think we are gunna draft DE-J.Anderson he would make our DE position deep & physical.

I still think we go after a top CB but I will trust Coach Whiz...
