The INT Leinart threw was just a mis-communication between him and Fitz. I was at the game and had perfect line of sight for that play. Leinart threw it thinking LF was going to stop and Fitz read it to go deep on his man. The ball was in the air before Fitz made his read. It shouldn't surprise anyone that a WR and the 2nd string QB weren't on the same page. It did look like Fitz made the right read because he would have been behind his man in single coverage but ML had already released it. Those things happen.

For some reason I'm not too concerned about what Leinart did yesterday either. Perhaps it will be a lesson learned for him. My mind-reading of the situation was that he wanted to keep the party going and show something with his arm. I really got the impression that he was a little too excited.

But it took 4 preseason games and 7 regular season games for the other guys on offense to actually click with this offense so I can easily assume that Leinart may not be on the same level of readiness. It wasn't his finest showing though and he now has something, again, to deal with. If nothing else, he will hopefully be mentally toughened by all of the things he's had to deal with.

Ultimately, Warner further cemented his position as starter though. When he threw that 5th TD I think it removed all doubt.

When you give a good QB with potential an opportunity to play in a game they generally light things up with great plays. That's how they become starters. Leinart's has had his opportunities and not taken advantage of them. If he has a career in the NFL, it's not with this team.

In general it is very rare for a backup to light up the scoreboard in a game where he comes off of the bench cold. Whis said that the play that was called was something that he did not practice at all during the week.

These things add up to what exactly happened - a qb looking rusty while coming in the game. Judging Leinart based on so little playing time and not practicing with the first string is moronic.

He never should have been in that position in the 1st place as we were averaging 5+ yards a carry and with a huge lead. RUN THE DAMN BALL and kill the clock.

It was one series, and one miscommunication.

What it means in the big picture ? = ZERO!

Hey Rugby...am I batting 1000% this season? Did I predict a big comeback from the grey beard? Was that big enough?:D

Longest road winning streak in ARIZONA CARDINALS HISTORY so far...:DWe should at least get one more in Louie before we go to Nashville and see how we can stop Chris Johnson that is out of control.

After getting our run defense back down from 9 to #4 now we can bring it down further if we play the seahawks again the same and see how close to 15 yards like we held them last time. Not afraid of any of thier running backs.

That should put us back close to #1 in rush defense till we play Steven Jackson as thats all the lambs have in offense.Plus we like his style rb.Big and bruising. Its the speed demons that run to the outside that scare me.The ones you can screen with.

If we can win in Nashville all we'll have left to complete an 8-0 road season record is the 9ers on Monday night and Detroit. It CAN be done.:D

It was one throw... it sucked, but nothing can be taken away from one throw.
As many know, I have been on the anti-Matty bandwagon since day one. Yesterday was sad to see, but for us anti-Matty folk, not really a surprise.

Still, the kid deserves a more legit shot to win the starting the role and prove he can play in the NFL. That day will come and it will of course be more than one series...

Maybe Matt and Kurt have an inverse relationship--when Kurt is on fire, Matt is a cold fish; and when Kurt is an turnover machine, Matt is a TD factory.

The problem is, Matt only goes in when Kurt is good Kurt, and Whis never puts him in when Kurt is bad Kurt. Therefore, we never see Matt at his best, only at his worst.

Another reason why Belichick and the Patriots are so successful. They keep their foot on your throat and continue to pound you when you're down. I think it was 52-0 when they finally took Brady out of the game a couple weeks ago against the Titans.

The Cards need that mentality.

YEAH!!! what he said times 10!!!

not only that the fans deserve it....god knows we have had endure it before...

Way to stand up for Matt, especially given the admission that your aren't a fan. I think its alright to try to get Matt on the field. He's one big hit away from being the starter. My bright line rule however would be, do not send him in after a TD by the opponent. I don't care how big our lead is, after the opponent scores a TD, especially in a road game, they are going to get a surge of energy. If we don't get a defensive stop, or at least hold them to a field goal, Matt needs to sit. Otherwise they are setting him up to fail.

QB's that come in totally cold and lit up the game are the exception not the rule.

Perhaps this is a trend with ML. I hope not. I am a Cardinal fan first and ML has lots of talent and potential. KW isn't gonna last forever. ML could be our future and in the past I have been too quick to write off players for the Cards only to be made a fool of a few plays or games later.

Please tell me what you've seen from ML that makes ML our future? I would not be surprised if the Cards were shopping ML right now. This is a different franchise now. We're trying to win and are going to put the best players in there to do it. ML is being given all he needs to prove he is the one and it's not working out too well.

Since the trading deadline has passed for this year I would be very suprised if they were shopping ML RIGHT now.

I would also be suprised if they were shopping ML next year.

ML hasn't stood out like a can't miss QB but he surely hasn't played poorly enough to think he can't be the QOF.

His rookie year. If not for Rackers missing two very makeable FGs, Matt would have won the Chiefs and Bears games. Yes, after the debacle of Monday night football, Matt led us back downfield for a gamewinning kick...that was missed. Same exact thing happened in the Chiefs game after Antron almost killed LJ...Matt led us back downfield for a gamewinning kick... that was missed.

He's talented, but not tested. But the talent is there, has been seen at the NFL level, and I have no worries that he'll be an adequate, if not good, QB for this team.

I hope this isn't the case. If Matt is our QBotF, then he needs to be a TD factory more than twice a year.

Cutler is a Jeff George clone, good number, poor leader and never a winner.

Leinart hasn't shown crap yet but I for one am glad we didn't draft Cutler.

Your right; watching that SF game, I kept thinking: Jeff George. Million dollar arm and a 50-cent head.

...Leinart looks good to me.:D
