I had the chance to watch the 49er/Giants' game. Here are my thoughts.

1./ NO lateral runs...They chased down pretty much every Giants' RB that tried to go outside. P. Willis was everywhere!

2./ Use LSH out of the backfield to gain at least 100 yards during the game. He has the elusiveness and hands to be the deciding factor in the game if utilized properly.

3./ Fitz' will probably be bracketed with a defender in front and behind. I would send an additional receiver into the targeted pass area to Fitz'. Hopefully, our 2 receivers can out-leap, out-position the (3) 49er defenders.

4./ I've mentioned this before but I'll share it again. In a play-off game many years ago the 49er's played the Redskins in old JFK stadium. The Redskins' defense was superb that year and you pretty much had zero chance of going 80 yards on them. The 49ers threw 3 "bombs"that day to Gene Washington for TD's. I think they still lost 24-21 BUT....they almost pulled it off. Skelton has the arm to go deep.

OK! What do you guys/gals think we should do to win Sunday??

5. Stack Peterson behind Fitzgerald in the bunch formation. Hit LSH once or twice behind this and then go deep on it.

We can't run on them. Willis and Bowman are the 2 best LB's in the division and they haven't allowed a 100 yard rusher in 2 years. This game will be on Skelton, the OL and pass catching core. Harbaugh doesn't put Smith in situations to turn the ball over. Pass rush has to take over and hurry him into bad decisions. A big play score on special teams will be needed.

The niners are not that good or talented. They just play solid defense and get turnovers and play safe on offense. Like i have been begging Whiz to balance it up since He benched Edge. The niners don't beat them selves, We do.

With Skelton, we have played safer and been rewarded with wins. Beanie is better, We need him to pound it 30 times and not let them up for air. bust them in their chops and pick our moments for big plays.

"The Niners are not that good or talented" - Here we go with this again...

That team has talent and they're finally playing up to it. If Vernon Davis switched places with Witton, Gates, Finely or Graham he'd be every bit as great. Gore has had multiple 1,400 yard season from scrimmage. Willis is the best ILB in the league and Bowman and Justin Smith are dominating this year.

That said we can beat them, they're coming off an emotional win and if our protection holds up they can be beat deep. PP to the house would help.

Match Patrick Peterson up against Vernon Davis all day. I will take my chances with Crabtree against Jefferson/Marshall, but we can't let Gore/Hunter or Vernon Davis beat us.

Things that make you a good football team:

1. Playing solid defense.
2. Getting turnovers.
3. Mistake-free offense
4. Don't make stupid plays/penalties to beat yourself

You not only failed to support your opening assertion, but you stated examples to the contrary.

I hope you didn't write position papers like this in college...

Pray to the football gods.

The Niners are a horrible match for the Cardinals.

On offense, our offensive line is going to be torn to shreds by there front seven. The Niners front seven is one of, if not the best in the league. The thought of Justin Smith going against Sendlein, and College.....ugh. Justin Smith has his name tatooed on Sendlein's forhead because he OWNS him.

On defense, the Cardinals are extremely lucky if they don't have to face Frank "The Cardinal Killer" Gore. Yet, the Niners best offensive weapons after Gore are Walker, and Davis. Walker and Davis are going to run Adrian Wilson, and Paris Lenon around in circles.

The Cardinals are not going to win this game. The Cardinals team is just not built to beat a team like the Niners.

Yet, I hope to see the Cardinals fighting their collective butts off, and giving it there all.

We will see, but on paper this looks a close to impossible game to win.

PP was in the backfield again on Sunday..I think the play went to LSH to the right side.

Decoy...decoy...decoy. Then we'll wildcat him or something, or pitch to him. I can't wait.

To beat the 49ers we should-----hope that Coach Ken Whizenhunt is as invested on the sidelines as he was in the Philadelphia game. To a man, these players gave every bit of effort they had when they saw how involved and committed Whiz was in that game. We need the same effort this week, from the players, but especially from Whiz. Let's see if he can't out Harbaugh, Harbaugh.

The key is how we come out of the gates. We have to stay close, no repeat of the Minnesota game. Btw, the only game we weren't in this year. We'll need a couple of big plays to win this game, whether it's a punt return, pick 6, or a couple of long passing plays. I agree with Rugby, that we just don't match up well with the Niners & haven't for a few years now. We will have to play close to turnover free football & win UGLY. If we can give Skelton some time, their secondary is very beatable. Stay close & perhaps a lucky bounce goes our way! We may lose, but I expect the Cardinals will come out & be as physical as they can be! I am looking forward to the game. If Kolb starts, we lose big. He'll be tentative, rusty & will be a turnover machine. In THIS game, Skelton gives us a much better chance to win.

Punch them in the mouth. The last 4 games, they've beat us off the ball and pushed us around. We have to take the fight to them.

Special Teams may have to produce a ton of points for us. Whether that is long field goals or kick returns, I don't think they will come easy.

No drive-killing penalties on offense, and don't give Alex Smith more opportunities with stupid penalties on defense.

The Defense will have to keep its momentum going from the last 2 games.

Skelton can't turn the ball over. He just needs to play within himself. No INT's and I bet we win.

Practice screens all week. If we could actually execute the screen against the Niners, it would help. They pin their ears back and go often enough that we could burn them with it.

We need to get pressure on Alex Smith. Pressure can make him revert back to the Alex Smith of old. Go get him D Wash!

I acutally think that we match up better than in years past.

Offensively we are overmatched vs the 49ers defense, but we have pounded the ball better with Wells and that should limit the all out rush that we have seen from San Fran in the past. The 49ers will still struggle covering Fitz, but I really beleive that our use of two TE sets, and Sherman at FB (if he plays) will hold the LB's more than in years past. It won't be easy, but I think that our more conservative approach on offense this year will prevent us from making multiple huge mistakes. Time of possession will be huge for our offense in order to keep the defense fresh. I would really look for the coaches to try and stay on sched in regards to down and distance (1st-10, 2nd-6, 3rd-2) to give Skelton the best opportunity to convert on 3rd downs.

Defensively is where I am most intrigued. First and foremost, Dan Williams has to bring his big boy pads and have a huge game. I think that Campbell and Dockett will play well, so I am not so worried up front. Acho and Haggens give us more size at OLB than we have had previously, and Acho's weakness is his speed, so I think that his play will be maximized. Our secondary matches up well with Peterson, Jefferson, Marshall and Mike Adams. I said this earlier, but I would put Peterson in the slot and lock him on Vernon Davis for the majority of the game. That would leave Jefferson/Marshall outside on Crabtree which would be fine. Adrian Wilson/Daryl Washington are more than athletic enough to cover Delanie Walker. So, as long as we hold up physically, I think that we keep it close.

Turn Alex Smith back into Alex Smith.

Play solid defense.

Use our TE's, I'd go double tights to aid in the run game and the short passing game then once in a while I'd throw in a deep bomb out of that formation to Fitz.

They eat up our spread like formations so don't use them.

I'd love for us to run a ton of screens on them but ....... no.... not until I see them done correctly for several games, once or twice a game would I ever believe we can actually do one that works.

I think this is the main reason our 4-2-5 appears to be working better. Acho is more of a 4-3 DE than Porter so makes that D alignment work better.

One thing that is cause for optimism for the rest of the season is that our "too many young guys" are getting enough experience to start to move more toward that experienced veteran stage that you must have to win in the NFL.

Hard to believe they held Gore to 30 yards on 22 carries in '09 and still lost. The Cards have lost 6 of the last 8 vs SF and been outscored 89-22 the last 3 games. Time for that nonsense to stop.

Most of the damage done to the Cardinals is done by the TE's of Frisco.

Younger faster LBer's might help this.

I think people talking matchup and how we don't on this team aren't paying attention that essentially we're moving to more of a pro style team at the same time we're getting insanely younger on defense.

To me we now matchup well enough to beat these butt clowns and if they can I'd forgive Whis for the entire season, my new hatred is brewing against this franchise, they aren't Dallas yet but they're climbing the charts.

Aren't the 9ers playing Thanksgiving? We can hope they are distracted/affected by having to play next Thursday.
