Stopping Barber; stops the Giants. It's that simple. Sure Shockey can hurt the Cards, as can the other Giant receivers, but without a significant contribution from Barber, the Giants likely can't win. This is the type of game where the speed of the linebackers and Wilson's speed could make a big difference in preventing Barber from getting momentum. The real danger with him is if the above players overrun the play, then Barber cuts back and it's over.

The real defensive deficiency to me this year has been the failure of the front four to provide pressure on the passer without blitzing support. I can't remember a single play where that has been accomplished. What has made the Giants dangerous this year is Warner's ability to get rid of the ball quickly. He'd seemed to lose that the last couple of seasons, but has been much better this year. However, pressure often can harass him into making those quick throws off target and turnovers then destroy the Giants. That said, if the Cards can only create that pressure by blitzing, Barber will find some of those holes and the Giants will batter the Cards. The front four must stand on its own at least some of the time if the Cards are to win this game.

So the game is simple, hold Barber to 120 yards or less of combined offense and pressure Warner. It will be hard to do both, but I think this team may have grown to that point. I believe this secondary has played as well as any in the league, so I'll take the Cards to once again beat down the Giants. By the way, look for the passing game to take a step forward today. Please don't let the first play be another delayed handoff.

I agree stopping Barber is the key! BUT............our front four have done a pretty good job of pressuring the QB without the blitz. In fact that was one of the things the local talk radio guys seem to agree on ( they are mostly boneheads anyway). But Dockett and Berry have been in the QBs face alot this year without the blitz.

I think we need to run blitz alot in the beginning and rattle Warner and slow Barber down fast.

I was going to say the same thing. Dockett and Berry have in the backfield rushing the QB all year long.

Other than that I agree we need to shut down Tiki and pressure Warner w/out the blitz.

Or we can just run up the score....

No one is commenting about how crappy their defense matches up against us. With Washington and Strahan out that is a big coup..... but even before those injuries I was getting excited about our 3WR set coming around and tearing their secondary apart. I'm not a big Freddie Jones fan, but if we start spreading it out (and making the safeties double up on Fitz and Q) old #85 could put up some numbers today.

Let's just score 40 points and let those front 4 pin back their ears!!!! I'd love to see Manning come in with a 20 point defecit..... he might make McCown look cool, calm, and collected.

Should be a good sign today I just tore my tickets off and noticed Q is on the ticket this week. Barber always scares me has been our worst enemy when we play the Giants. I hope his fumbling ways return this week. I also agree with Harry the speed of our LB's should really pay off against Barber. Dansby has really been impressive.

Fitz vs. Allen

Berry vs. ??????? I know the NYG OL is banged up.

That is two very good match ups for us.

I'm gonna try. I think my brother needs to hit up the box office so it is a good possibility.

I agree. Barber will be the key. I think if our linebackers flow to the direction that he goes instead of rushing the line, I think we can contain him and keep him from having those long runs.

I can't agree with you about our D-line. They have provided a lot of pressure all year. I think in this game we need to blitz only one man here and there and keep our linebackers back to stop Barber from having any long runs. I also think we should play our corners up a lot to keep the Giants wideouts from getting easy catches on the quick outs. I agree with everything you said about Warner. If he has time he can hurt us badly. The Giants O-line has some injuries and we should be able to get good pressure on him.

I think the key to our D stategey will revolve around our O . We need the lead early to put them in a passing mode. Thats where they seem to be most vulnerable

I read today that the Giants have a very good secondary, like fourth best in the NFL.

To me, the key match-up with be the Quan and that secondary. We need or Pro-Bowl threat to knock the Giants into confusion.

Should the Q have one of his "days", we will win this game. That simple.

Josh will look like Ben's Daddy.
Fitz will be left one-on-one with a 5'8" corner in the end-zone.
Freddy Jones will be left uncovered in the middle seam.
The running game will go and Emmitt will look ten years younger.
The OL will be validated.

Please throw the ball deep.

Please run the offense that the Cards ran in the 1st QTR of the 'hawks game.

Please get Alex Wood some coffee.
