A couple of months ago I was so psyched at the depth at CB. DRC, PP, Toler (and later, the appearent progression of Jefferson).

Now, it's paper thin. If PP can make some strides in the first few weeks I think we could MAYBE get by with he and Jefferson as starters...but what's to keep teams from throwing 3-4 WRs at us?

Man this has got to be the worst preseason (injury wise) that I can remember for the Cards.

Just dont even play the starters on Thursday Whis... :(

Hopefully someone good becomes a roster casualty and we can get a replacement. We need CB's.

Same here! Cardinals had to get a quarterback, but the trade of DRC and the loss of Toler mean there is no longer have any depth to speak of.

I'd take a sip of Kool-aid and say the Packers were devastated by injuries last season and won the Super Bowl. But not even Kool-aid allows me to compare Rod Graves to Ted Thompson with a straight face. :(

NO! I guess I was kidding myself, didn't see him twist the leg, didn't think ACL:( I locked on to Toler on a number of occasions during the games and thought he was playing very well.

I know these non contact ACLs happen but I am curious how many of the injuries we are seeing all over the NFL are a result of no off season programs.

Jon Clayton has been talking about this all preseason as there has been a big increase (according to his reports) in knee and achilles injuries. Apparently, the Giants alone have lost 4 defensive backs for the season.

Where are all the people asking for the heads of John Lott and the training staff for failing to prevent these types of injuries? They are overdue for an appearance. It's an annual tradition this time of year.

This sucks so hard.

While that is indeed a bummer, if it had to happen, then having it be this early into the season is preferential to late in the year. He will have a chance to recover and rehab in preparation for next season. Meanwhile, Money Mike will be coming off the IR at some point, and will help with zone coverage when he does. This does not necessarily mean doom is what our defense will undergo. It may mean that both Marshall and Peterson will need to accelerate the pace that they were learning at. Both will be needed earlier rather than later now.

While this sucks. If jefferson plays the way he has in pre season and if PP21 can come along nicely. We still have Richard Marshall a guy who is a 32 game starter at CB in this league and Michael Adams coming back as a dime CB. It certainly could be worse.

Would rather have Toler but you have to play the hand your delt.

I foresee a lot of 3rd-and-long conversions for opponents this year, but what else is new?

Very tough break. Toler wasn't a world beater last year, but he seemed to fit well in the new defense in his limited time on the field this preseason.

We've been pretty lucky with major injuries over the past few seasons. I guess our luck ran out this year. Time for PP and Jefferson to step up.

I kinda expected there to be a rash of injuries league-wide this year. Since there were no OTA, most guys didn't really come into camp in top condition. Did I read somewhere that there have already been 10 torn achilles tendons this year?

Whisenhunt said team will look for corner, running back. doesn't feel pressing need. Wouldn't say if Marshall or Peterson will start

Oh boy Que the board meltdown in 3..2..1 reference bolded :)

lol... if there is a meltdown, i'd say it's more than justified.
