Until somebody else at least MAKES the playoffs, Tobin is the best coach in Arizona Cardinals history. I'm more into the bottom line. I like Green's team better on paper, but he hasn't matched McGinnis' best season yet either. I mean, if we go 5-11 this year how will this article sound then?

As for the drafts, we got good grades basically every year those two drafted. This tells me two things: 1. The draft is a crapshoot, I don't care who's ranking or picking the players. 2. We are all much smarter in hindsight. In fact, I remember we used to have a pretty good draft guru on this site, by the name of Ed B, who liked most of those drafts himself. In particluar, he liked the Wendell Bryant pick. Since he was wrong, does that make him the "worst draftnik" in history? ;)

Very well put aj!

I don't know when a C+ equalled a "good grade." Maybe some B-'s over the years, but we never had draft grades comperable to what we had the last two years while McGinnis was here. Especially in his last season, what with the Pace/Johnson instead of Suggs/Leftwich debacle.

Yep, that was not graded well. I didn't mean to imply ALL of their drafts got good reviews. But, most of them did. Generally speaking

That was a good draft IMO, if McDougle had been taken over Pace then that would have been an excellent draft. Then again those players all improved under the guideance of DG. With Wells becoming a starter and what not.,

By far, thee worst was Hollway. Mac and Vinnie don't even compare.

Mac and Vinnie did not have the control that Green has over the orgainization; so, judging them by the draft isn't useful . Using their field decisions and overall strategy is a better measure. I estimate we lost 3-4 games per year due to their field decision and strategies that did not fit the team's abilities. But such a measure means Hollway was the worst. Just ask MacArthur Lane (RB). He'll confirm this.

My comment was about how their drafts were graded at the time. Not how they are doing now. In fact, that draft was the most panned. If does turn out to be the best of "McTobin", then it just further shows how little you can trust those draft experts.

This first round was bad enough for us without blowing it out of proportion. We did not have the opportunity to draft both Suggs and Leftwich. It was either one or the other...and we opted for plan C: neither.

Tobin did manage to win the only playoff game for the Cardinals since they moved to the valley. That's got to be worth something.

i couldn't STAND tobin. every time they showed him on the sideline, he had that same confused look on his face, clutching his clipboard to his chest. thank god we don't have to see that any more...

Tobin, Ryan, Macdraft choices

I have attended every Cardinal summer training camp in Flagstaff. I did not attend every day of every year's camp. I had allways hoped this year the Cards would break out and have a successful year.
I was at the Cardinal camp last Monday. Unfortunately for me I got thinking, about me believing that B.Bidwill and all the coaches he hired gave a damm. I began to wonder whether Green is any different. I just felt like a sucker again.

But I was at the Cardinal's Pioneer Park practice field in Prescott yesterday morning. So I am still interested and hoping but not believing.

IMO The worst one two punch in NFL coaching history goes to Kay Stepenson and Hank Bullough. In two years they took Chuck Knoxs playoff team to back to back 2-14 seasons. The good news is the resulting drafts brought in some great talent along with a Hall of Fame coach. Hopefully we're on the same track.

Criticise the coaches and the organization, but not the fans. They were just trying to be good fans. I don't feel embarrassed or suckered for supporting the home town team and that goes for the Suns, D-Backs, and Coyotes too.
