Does anyone know when the Pacific Theatre Band of Brothers is going to be on?
The movie "Gettysburg" is based on this book. Both very good.OT: For those of you who like Civil War stuff, make sure to read Killer Angels. A book about Gettysburg. Fantastic.
Too many to narrow it down to three. I'm surprised nobody mentioned All Quiet On The Western Front.
My favorites:
1)Saving Private Ryan
Opening 30 minutes blew me away, then what followed was an amazing story capped by a gut wrenching finale. Fantastic movie all around.
2)Apocalypse Now
Surreal and epic. "Never get outta the boat, absolutely ******* right."
I prefer the full length version released in 2001.
3)Black Hawk Down
Ridley Scott nailed this.

I would have Gettysburg in my top 3 with "Patton" and "The Great Escape."
If "Band of Brothers" was a movie, it would be my number 1.
Yes you should. Set aside a good chunk of time. Gettysburg is around 3 hours. Band of Brothers is 10 episodes, each around an hour.I've never seen "Gettysburg" or "Band of Brothers". Sounds like that is something i should rectify over the summer.
Yes I am.Mathew, you must be serious history buff.

Anyone ever heard of a decent American Revolutionary War movie?
Only one I can think of is The Patriot but that was kind of mediocre.
Seems like a perfect idea for a film. Even just a miniseries (not named John Adams).
I liked it, but there should be more than just the movie about the Revolutionary War. I guess it would just so hard to make because the war lasted roughly eight years.I really liked the Patriot.

Darn Tootin! No George Washington movie, no Thomas Jefferson (cepting the in Paris dopiness), no Hamilton?Mulli you are right! It's amazing how few really good revolutionary war movies there are. Especially considering it is the single most important historical eventvin this nations history.
Can I get some love for how BAD ASS Glory is!!!???!!!
