I saw it, and still don't agree with you. I'm not trying to say Melo would be an ideal fit here, but to call him a stats guy that doesn't influence W-L records is wrong. He was the best player in Denver and made the playoffs every year, starting his rookie year. The Knicks are obviously a mess, and the East is putrid, but still managed to make the postseason there as well.

So is this proposal better or worse than what the Suns ended up doing? (Yes, I understand that we don't know whether the Knicks would have agreed to it.) How about if the Suns had to cough up the LAL pick in this deal, instead of their own?

The Dragic-trade was OK.
