Who exactly has he driven away? Marbury left because he thought that he wouldnt get paid, not because of KG.

Billups left because McHale didn't want to pay him.

Has Minny even had talent other than them?

Googs and Nesterovic two I can think of off the top of my head. He feuded repeatedly with Wally.

I'm sure that there are always multiple reasons why guys want to split from a team, but I've heard too many stories not to be concerned.

i've changed my mind. KG is beyond reproach as a basketball player, especially if you could surround him with TWO superstars. If KG is available, i think going for him makes sense...that's probably why it won't happen :)

It won't happen... mark of my word.

I don't think T-Wolves want Marion, quite honestly.

I am sure no teams will say NO to KG, as simple as that. I won't mind having KG. I mean even if KG can't run with us, his rebounding and defense ability can guard bigger guys and then Amare won't be in foul trouble.

What about involving other teams? For example Seattle and Chicago in which KG ends up in Phoenix, Marion in Chicago, Tim Thomas (expiring contract), and a 1st round pick or 2 in Seatlle, and Ray Allen, Jim Jackson and a 1st end up in Minnesota?

There is no substance to this rumor.

I agree.

You have got to remember that Rex Chapman in now in Minnesota and might have made a phone call to BC and someone in the office drew a conclusion.

Also a lot of inuendos go into the trading deadlines and some GM might mislead another GM for leverage.

I have very mixed emotions about this rumor. I think the logical choice is to make the trade, but for no more than Marion/Jackson/highest #1. We keep Diaw, Barbosa and Jones.

The reason I'm mixed on this is that Marion is truly a perfect complementary player to our scheme and he is having a year that is slightly better than the year Garnett is having. My question is how will Marion be when Amare is back? Will he still average 22/12? I suspect his rebs will stay the same, but his points will go down because he has 3-4 less shots per game. Now he's at 18-19ppg.

On the other hand, KG is only averaging 22ppg even though he is the one and only option. Coming here as #3, would his production fall off? Probably. However, we'd have 3 great passers (Nash, Diaw, KG) on the court with a shooter (Bell) and our main horse (Stoudemire). Problem is that we have nobody left to be as active as Marion is off the ball, so our style would adjust to more of a hybrid halfcourt set. KG is a superior defender, though, man-up 1-5.

In short, our offense adjust down slightly and out defense adjusts up slightly. Team ppg differential would probably stay the same, but I think that if we had KG all year, we'd be 3-4 games better than we are now. The trade would be worth it....

i think that when stat comes back marions ppg might go down but his rpg will go up 2-3 because that is where he will focus his attention. after watching him own pierce last night it'd be really hard to give him up.

Of course, a team that starts Kurt Thomas, Amare Stoudemire and Kevin Garnett will pretty much be a brick wall to ANY interior player in the league. Every single team would have to beat us from outside.

you're telling me that you think marion is gonna average 14-15 rebounds per game? uh, REALLY unlikely.

Rodman averaged 16 rpg one year, but he did not do the rest of the things Marion does.

I dont think there is any doubt KG is a better player than Marion but IMO Marion is the better player for this team. So I dont want to see this trade go down for that reason. One thing to remember is KG is putting up his numbers as the go to guy in Minnesota with not much help, Marion puts up his numbers with no plays run for him and typically being the third option...
