I go back and forth on KM and I think this quote sums it up for me as well. The question is are we getting a stat machine (Kirk Cousins) or are we going to get a TRUE franchise QB, one who perennially takes the team deep in the playoffs with a chance for a championship? If they give him a max contract like the top guys right now, they may live to regret it.
Indeed. Kirk Cousins is exactly what he is right now. Granted, Kirk doesn't have the tools to become more--he is what he is. I'm just hoping KM isn't just what he is right now. I'm hoping he finds/decides to find the maturity to progress. It's all on him and his desire to get better--or lack thereof.

This is the problem. All the people here saying "But he's super talented and you can't afford to lose that talent" are missing the point.

If he's the kind of character to try pull off petty BS like this he doesn't have the character to lead us anywhere. He might mature and become that person but after 3 years in the league already the odds are getting slimmer and slimmer.

The talent doesn't matter if you don't have the character when it comes to the QB.

" IF"........ the man hasn't said a word yet and yet he is roasted on this board. He may well be all the things he is accused of but until he speaks nobody knows.

Ask Carson Palmer if you get hit in a BA offense. No way KM is someone who would succeed on a BA team. He would be clashing with BA early on.
Yeah, BA regularly put Palmer under center with 5 wides. It’s open season on the QB in that formation.

I feel like Cardinals fans are in crazy land. Kyler has his faults and needs to mature, but there is zero question he is one of the most talented young players in the NFL today. Teams go decades without seeing a talented QB, and we have one of the best in the league. Is he a bit enigmatic? Yes, needs to mature as a leader and grow a bit more resilient, but if he is traded, this team is looking at years of darkness.
I’d feel much better about Murray if he came out and said he was committed to doing whatever it takes to be the best QB in the NFL.

BA definitely does.
Did he say anything remotely negative about TB12, with once exception last year? IIRC, he made one comment about Tom and you would have thought the sports world was going to melt down. He ended up walking it back a bit and then I don't think ever said a negative word about him again...even when he had bad plays and games.

Coaches and team mates never publicly criticize their starting QB.

There has been enough visible in his own body language and play on the field and read in his own words to feel comfortable taking the position that he has issues with his work ethic and leadership.

It's hard to say. The same article I read last night where the headline said Larry said Kyler might want a trade, quoted Fitz as saying I love Kyler, he's a great guy a great player and I want what's best for him and everyone else. The author of that story implied that meant a trade but no idea where he got that.

But Fitz isn't on the team anymore and is not exactly afraid of backlash so if he thought Kyler was a problem he probably wouldn't have said I love the guy he's a great dude or whatever the exact quote was.

I love Fitz, but he is the last guy to give a concrete answer on anything. Fitz never wants to rock the boat, so he tends to ride the fence on controversial topics.

He probably is a great dude. He is a great player. That doesn't mean he's putting in the study or that he has the character required to lead us where we need.

I recall Fitz saying the exact things about Rosen. Almost verbatim.

Someone said Shefter brought up that the situation could eventually lead to them working out a trade? Did he really say that?

He straight up threw Jameis under the bus when he was starting

He did on Rosen but he was still on the team then so he had more incentive to lie

Maybe Kyler is secretly asking Fitz for contract advice. I mean as much as I love Larry, for a long time near the end of his career, he was able to get the Cards to pay him $11 million a year. :D

The one thing I do find attractive about this Eagles trade idea is if the Cardinals got picks 15 & 16 this draft is so deep that’s potentially 2 Pro Bowl players. There are a couple of solid QBs that might cap fit as trades. Re-sign Ertz, Williams & Conner and you might catch lightening in a bottle.
