I like where the Suns are at right now. They have talent. However, I keep waiting for them to balance out the roster. I guess I will keep waiting for the Suns to make a move until the trading deadline. Then it comes draft time.

Agreed. I am actually neither happy nor upset at the state of the team. Ever since Nash left I've had a hard time identifying with these players, although I'm closer now than I've ever been. Part of that is living out of town with very little access to actually watch the games (I don't have cable anymore).

agreed with state of mind. I'm in the same place emotionally where this team is on the court... purgatory right now. Hard to get too upset or too happy about much of anything at this point for me.

This is my own problem and not anyone else's but I find that the more I participate in this forum the less I enjoy watching the Suns. It's been that way for a couple of years now and it's why I take occasional breaks.

I understand that there's more than one way to be a fan and I can understand disappointment and negativity. I have a problem though with people constantly framing everything as negatively as possible. We seem to have posters that race to the board with every negative report or comment and very little effort to shine a light on the positive stories that are out there. It makes for a very depressing board. Some people like to wallow in that misery and some of us don't.

Speaking for myself, I was plenty positive when the team was good. I joined this board shortly before our 2010 playoff run and I remember plenty of people bitching about Amare's defense and how we should have traded him and how our bench is overrated and bunch of unwarranted criticism for Jason Richardson as well. I was one of the few people at the time who thougt that we will get it right eventually, whether it was that season itself or the year after (assuming we brought Amare back). I also thought Frye was a perfect fit as a bench 5, pairing him Lou was a match made in heaven due to both of their style of play. RoLo was also someone who I thought would help us big time that year (and he did even though he fell of years after). Many people disagreed with me and thought very lowly of those players. However when went on that 17 or 18 game winning streak, everyone was happy and joyful.

When a team has missed playoffs for 5 consecutive years, it tends to be negative. I see people bashing Suns fans for this, but you should check out boards of other fan bases where their team hasn't had success for 5 years or longer, its just as "negative" or worse. There simply isn't much to celebrate about..yet. Sure Minnesota and Bucks fans are excited about Wiggins and Parker/Ginnis but we don't quite have those type of prospects.

Len and Bledsoe are pretty much our main young guys with a lot of potential and Len has been received with only nice words this season and people are praising Bledsoe more and more as his play improves and becomes more consistent as well.

I'm a Chargers fan and the Chargers have had more success than the Suns in the past 5 years and yet whenever I stop by the Chargers forum, its often doom and gloom as well.

I don't know any forum or any team's fanbase which doesn't react according to its team. I have visited various Suns forums on the internet and I can't say I've seen any that are much more positive or negative than another. You have a team that's a playoff lock, you have fans who are super positive and happy. You have a team that hasn't made playoffs in a while, you have fans who are super negative and unhappy. Its simple human behavior.

can't really argue with this. Truth is we haven't made the playoffs in a LONG time. Thus the negatives are going to outweigh the positives. And while you can tell yourself "we're supposed to only be in year 2 of a major rebuild", the truth is last season raised expectations and that's where we are now... not two years ago. And those expectations so far haven't been met. The team is kinda stuck in mud. It's not bad... it's not good... but it's hard to see how they can get GREAT when they're solidly stuck in the middle.

I think a guy like Greg Monroe could really give the Suns a reliable and consistent low post scorer and most importantly, a good rebounder.

I wonder whether Amare would have stayed healthier had we retained him in that summer. Going to NY, he was heavily used again without a low-post game in the same DA manner that got him the earlier issues. In any case, if they kept that team together with maybe just tossing Barbosa for something else. I thought they'd have been contender in 10/11 with a still healthy Amare and not yet fully broken down Nash. Lopez would have kept his growth. The team would not have been worse even if Amare were to go down again like with NYK.

I'm not sure whose idea it was, NY's training staff or Amare himself...

but he packed on some more muscle and got really bulky, once he did that his second season he knees took a hit. The first year he was with NY, he was ballin.

I always wonder that myself. NYK has a bad training staff, I wonder if our staff could have kept him healthy and then potentially lured other FAs like CP3, prime D-Will, Dwight or Melo to PHX. Probably not but still something to ponder about.

Rumor Press @NBARumorPress
Bulls checked in on T. Harris--vibe is ORL will look to move him w/ low probability he re-ups with them. Young asset(s) + pick would appeal.

If true, Suns should jump on this imo. Harris has star potential, great athleticism and size for his position and the go to scorer that we need.

Can he play PF?

Cause he's way too big and strong to play SF for the Suns.

We have absolutely no need for Tobias Harris.

1. TJ Warren should be as good eventually and we a have a bunch of ofther small forwards, some of which are very similiar to Harris.

2. Harris has only put up numbers on bad teams so far. How he would fit in with the Suns while maintaining his production is questionable.

3. He does not really excel at shooting, something the Suns need.

4. He wants a max contract.

5. For Orlando he seems to play as a small power forward most of the time.

I really don't know much about Harris, I've only watched him play maybe a half dozen times. My concern about him would be his desire for a max deal and reported interest in playing for New York. Maybe those rumors are unfounded but I wouldn't give up assets for a player in this situation.

That's D'Antoni asking him to play C. Amare being a good soldier always complies. Remember a summer when he was told to learn shooting 3s under DA? With that additional bulk playing in DA's fast pace system, and shortly after slowly recovering from the eye operation induced long break, that all added to the burden on his knees.

Tyreke Evans is a baller and he has good size. Versatile player.

I'd consider acquiring him if Goran's leaving.

Evans is a 20-5-5 threat.

you are so funny man..

You hate on IT but you want to get Tyreke Evans, hilarious.

This team needs more shooters, not more "dribblers".

With the Hornets acquiring Mo Williams, it looks like we can cross them off the list of possible suitors for IT.

Suns GM Ryan McDonough on @AZSports: "I think our roster balance is a little off and that's my fault."
It's amazing that it took him 4 months into the season to figure out something that most fans figured out after the first 2-3 weeks of the season.

Will be interestig to see what happens in the next week.

McDonough had to know this all along. I wonder if the Suns have not had any serious trade offers thus far. Maybe they are hoping at the trade deadline some teams that are going nowhere will listen to trade offers.
