Exactly why i think we do go offense with our first pick. Not only does would VD help to give our defense a rest, but it validates Smith as the number 1 pick of last year's draft. What's the point of drafting a QB # 1 if you don't give him the necesary weapons he needs to succeed???

Well I think you have a long way to go in order to validate Alex Smith. He might pan out, but I put him in the same range as JP Losman. I think he'll be a bust for what you gave up for him.

True but like I brought up in another thread, it may not neccessarily be Vernon Davis at 6. They might instead take a defensive player early (especially if 2 of the QBs are take in the top 5) or possibly Ferguson if he falls.

It just depends on how SF's FO views (a)Vernon Davis and the spread between the other WRs/TEs and (b) how highly they view the defensive players available (Huff, Hawk, etc). With the luxury of having 2 1st rounders, they might just take a defensive player and then take a TE/WR at 22.

Many situtations can play out differently then expected in this draft. I can still see many teams passing up on Huff and VD based on them not being "impact" position players. Before anyone flames me, I believe that S and TE could very easily be impact positions but I can see GMs trying to get out of it with more of a glory and name selection

For the Cards to get Davis though, it could lead to offensive domination.

I talk about the Lakers/Suns in the Suns forum when the two teams play. I only talk smack in the smack forum.

Where am I talking smack? Did I not respond and only respond to 49er related posts in the Cards section?

As long as you're not here to lambaste the Cards or the fans, no one is going to have a problem with you. From the history I've seen here, there are true football fans that enjoy talking to other fans. To think the people here don't know football based on the Cards history is a big mistake. We've suffered through with eternal hope of them turning it around. Now the Cards are doing it and it would be nice for other fans to recognize that. As far as the 49er's, I think you guys are now getting a feel for what we've been going through until we got Green. Just remember, the past is past. This is a new season, and the Cards could be serious contenders.

My troll sign was under MT9erFan's quote.

I never said you were talking smack. You accused me of smack talking in the Suns forum, which I don't do.

And where was I talking smack? I simply stated a truth that is undeniable. That truth is that the Arizona Cardinals are perennial losers, and have never won a super bowl. Have never drafted well historically! Facts Facts Facts!

"It's nice to see that you you didn't try coming back to sell us that he will be the next Montana."

Montana 4-4 super bowl record, 3 time SB MVP, 0 interceptions in 4 SB.

At least we have a Montana to draw a commparison, when the cards draft V young are your going to call him the next "Neal Lomax"

No kidding? Gee, and all this time I thought the Arizona Cardinals had won multiple Super Bowls.

PS - It doesn't change the fact that the Cardinals are better than the 49ers now.

SF will INSTANTLY add 8k season tickets with Reggie Bush signing. Anyone else will do nothing for thier team fan base.

SF knows they're going to suck next year no matter who they draft. They draft Bush and get instant fans and media looking their way. He can be their KR, PR, and part time RB. They can use him as a WR every know and then.

R. Bush is a defensive nightmare....at least in college...no one knows what he'll do in the pro's.

SF will get the deal done.

" PS - It doesn't change the fact that the Cardinals are better than the 49ers now."

Arguably the 49ers are the worst team in the NFL right now (I will concede that we are the bottom or near the bottom); only a cardinals fan would take pride in being the second worst team in the NFL.

We aren't the second worst team in the NFL. Our record, D ranking and O ranking show otherwise.

You might as well run along troll, your spouting the same crap we have heard for years and it has little effect.

Ok, so you're better than four 4-12 teams, one 3-13 team, and one 2-14 team, hang that on your mantel where a real trophy should be. Any team with the O and D stats that the cards put up should have won at least 8 games, only the Cardinals could turn that into a 5 and 11 season. That is why they deserve the distinction of being the second worst team in the NFL.

Now that is some good logic.

I never thought there would come an owner that would unseat our owner as the worst owner in football according to 90% NFL reporters and fans. Then came John York.

Dude, that's just not true. We had a top ten ranked offense AND Defense last year yard wise. Our running game just blew chunks as well as our special teams.

Way to back track. Your logic is flawed and your argument is tired.

The fact that you have to bring up past Super Bowls is WEAK and has nothing to do with the current state of your team. The 49er's stink and you have no business talking smack on here.
