don't see a sandy eggo trade coming any time soon. the place is a trainwreck,...and while SK can be a shrewd business man...I do not think he is vindictive or cruel in any way...... whom along our D-line does he dislike so bad he wants to bind them to the chargers for the next couple of years?

Well. Two aspects you are forgetting.

If the alternative is to cut a player because 9 DL is too many, why not get a 5th-7th rounder for Mauro, Stinson or Williams?

And all three of these guys are nearing the end of their rookie deals. Where can they show the most production to get a new deal. As #9 with the Cards or #5 with the Chargers

There is not a lot of talent on that San Diego roster, TBH. Even to acquire depth, I can't think of a deal that would make this team any better than it already is. The only incentive I can think of is to trade a D-Lineman for a 6th or 7th just to get something for a player the team was gonna cut anyway.

I know the Cardinals where intrigued with Jason Verrett in the draft... I want their Pro-bowl cover corner, please send him to the Cardinals and have a brain fart Chargers :)

Im a huge Verrett fan but we have nothing to give for a player of that quality.

Maybe a 2nd rounder + Calais + Ellington

Way too much to do the trade. If they really for some reason would have an unlikely inclination to unload Verrett for a price (maybe his past problems with his hamstrings resurfaced, that is even if the Chargers had any remote interest), Campbell and a third would be enough but Campbell on this line is too valuable in my opinion

You under estimate how good Verrett is. Hes already been to a pro bowl. Hes easily a top 10 CB in the NFL. And CBs are rarer than DLs or RBs.

He made the Pro Bowl by alternate but I agree he is a stud. He is no Peterson due to a lack of size but he has excellent man coverage skills. It comes down to injuries and how important the DL or the CB would then be. A injury to Peterson would be more to overcome for this team than Campbell... but if both where to remain healthy, it makes no sense to give up Campbell lol

Pretty sure nobody said that.
I don't remember anyone here saying it recently but I do remember a few back on draft day & plenty of Cards fans on FB did the day he was named the starter. I do consider many here more knowledgeable about the NFL game though lol

Yeah he is more knowledgeable but about being the starter. It is a different kind of story. And must earn it.

Okafor has a torn bicep... see the oops now :)

No, if anything it helps loosen the jam. The 3 other guys (Okapalugo, Martin and Riddick) have all been flashing this PS. Im more interested in seeing what they can do.

Okafor was a good backup, but no huge loss.

Sorry, those PS flashes do nothing for me, Okafor is better than Okapalugo, Martin and Riddick... but when healthy he's not the speed we need off the edge in my opinion

If there is a trade, I fully expect a bottom of the roster kiind of trade-- one where we trade a guy like Stinson -- who we know and value (and where SD fans would say "who?") for a guy most of us have never heard of
