Hopefully we will have a young group we can get behind next year, win of lose.

Can you do some name dropping besides Gortat, Markieff and next years 1st round pick? Don't look like Lopez, Shannon Brown or Telfair are gonna pan out. Dudley is a bench/rotation player at best.

Throw whatever at New Jersey to get Marshon.

None of these deals appeals to me. Unless we get picks and expirings, I am not interested in trading Nash. He is more valuable to us as an expiring contract. My biggest concern was that he would produce too many wins for us to get a good draft pick this year. But it doesn't look like that is happening.

We might be better off letting free agents see us treat Nash with dignity in this process. If he requests a trade, we honor it. If not, he will walk this summer. If he stays beyond this summer, it will likely be at the vet miniumum.

Kanter and Favors are their future, why would they trade them. Kanter is playing good basketball for them.

You don't trade a potential franchise center.

Utah has no reason to make a trade.

Devin Harris and picks would be about as good as we could do in a trade with Utah, but Harris contract runs to 2013.

I think Utah has plenty of reason for a trade. Their bigs are carrying their team right now, along with a much improved Raja. An elite PG would make them a contender now. In addition, the one thing they have in excess is bigs. I know they dumped Okur, but if I were the Suns with Nash, I wouldn't even talk to O'Connor unless one of their bigs was in the mix... Kanter would be a piece for the future, but his play on the court suggests he is less a building block than he is a complementary piece. Jefferson and Milsap's improved play has limited Kanter's minutes (expect in blowout games), and thus limited his development. I don't expect that will change anytime soon.

Would Utah do it, No... but I wouldn't even talk with them unless a big was in the mix.

I'd like to see this deal go through.....

Nash/Lopez and MAYBE 2012 2nd
for
Lowry/Thabeet/Morris

Brings the Morris twins back together again and we get a competent PG to run the show.
Quit spreading pipe dreams. You can make he argument that Lowry is just as good as Nash right now and he's 12 years younger.

Nash/Lopez for Augustin/Diaw/1st ....... Rumor is the Cats' are shopping Diaw. Heard they would take Warrick/Lopez for him. Possibly make a bigger deal..........Nash/Warrick/Lopez for Augustin/Diaw/Henderson/1st
More pipe dream. No GM would part with a 24 year old point guard averaging 15/7 for a half season of 37 year old Nash and crap.

Daydreaming a little...........Nash/Hill/Frye/2013 1st for Melo/Shumpert/Fields
Daydreaming? More like pipedreaming.

Atlanta: Nash/Chilly/Lopez for Hinrich/Williams/T-Mac = Save $3.72 in 11/12 and add $2 in 12/13

Indy: Nash/Lopez for Foster/Collison/2012 1st = Save $10.1 in 11/12

Dallas: Nash/Hill/Chill for Terry/Odom/Roddy = Save $3 in 11/12 and Save $1.87 in 12/13

Portland: Nash/Lopez for Camby/Crawford/2012 1st = Save $340k in 11/12 and poss add $5 in 12/13 due to Crawford P.O.

Memphis: Nash/Lopez for Conley/Mayo/2012 2nd = Save $2.5 in 11/12 and Add $7.2 in 12/13 --> we would have to commit to Conley as our starting PG but have enough money for 1 MAX contract this summer.
Atlanta: Nobody is taking on the Childress contract for a three month Nash rental.

Indy: Most realistic possibility.

Dallas: Zero chance. That ship has sailed.

Memphis: Maybe, but doubtful. I'm willing to bet Memphis keeps their core together than try one run with Nash.

yeah, any trade with nash is going to be to a contender. this talk of Sac makes no sense. Nash is an expiring. If he isnt happy with a team he's being traded to, he'll just walk to a contender next season. so ANY talk of "nash for this young guy, and a pick" from a rebuilding team is nonsense from that team's perspective. he's at the point in his career where if he has an opportunity to win a championship he will. he isnt going to do any favor for a garbage team and stick around so they can rebuild.

and duh, that's why almost everyone here feels like he's going to bolt after this season.

Does anyone remember how terrible the rumored offers were for amare the year before he bolted? add 10+ years to that, and you have the perceived value of Nash.

He's a half season rental for a team who is looking to go over the top. that's it.

I pretty much agreed with you up to this point. If Nash wanted to go to a contender in need of a PG, I think Nash has this season and probably a couple more seasons of good play left in him. Nash is not a player to wander from team to team.

Nash is the best oldest point guard of all time. It's pretty amazing how well he's playing at 38 (next month). I can see him still being very effective for another two years.

Denver has a lot of young talent to trade, and maybe could be a contender with Nash.

They also have a superfluous vet pg with an expiring contract to trade in Dre Miller. I could maybe see something like Faried and Jordan Hamilton for Nash and a second.

Denver has Ty Lawson and Andre Miller. They would have no interest in a Nash rental. And Nash doesn't make them a contender.

I think the key question for any Nash move is who is going to be the coach and will that coach allow Nash to play the way he wants to play.

That place currently is New York with Coach D'Antonni. I can't see how a trade can be made with the Knicks without a third team involved. If they do get a third team involved that means Amare will be heading somewhere else. I cannot see Nash being excited about playing with the ultimate ball hog in Carmelo and not Amare.

I do think he possibly could end up in New York this off season as a free agent, however that will only happen if Coach D is still there and there is a come to Jesus with Melo. I don't see that happening. There is too much heat on Coach D and Melo is a cult hero in New York for some reason. Dolan loves him as well. It is amazing how many Knick fans blame their 20 and 27 record after Carmelo was acquired solely on Amare.

My bet is that he is still a Sun at this time next year. I really think he has his eye on moving up the ladder in All time assists while playing his style of basketball. Both of those goals are met if he stays in Phoenix. Miami has been mentioned as a possible free agent destination but I really cannot see how Lebron and Dwade deferring to Nash would work.

The problem in NY is not Amare, its Melo. DAntoni's offense cannot run through a ball-stopper like Melo, even if Nash is in the picture.

NY has to decide what its future is and if it includes Pringles. If so, then fine, trade for Nash.

The team in Denver could use a distributor like Nash. Ty Lawson would extend Nash's career and Nash could help Lawson improve.

Its just a thought.

I see two teams that might be likely destinations for Nash in a trade but they both would need a third team to make it work.

I think Dallas would be a likely trade partner for Nash. Of course, Nash going back to Dallas would be a natural fit with Dirk plus the fact he has played there. Nash could play opposite of Kidd so I see it fitting with their personnel. Plus Dallas could give the Suns Rodrigue Beaubois and a first round pick.

Also the Knicks would be a great fit. I would want Shumpert back in that trade plus a first round pick. I see DA increasingly growing desperate and he already knows Nash can make his offense work and make fans happy. DA may be on the way out after this season so there may not be time to wait.

Do I think these trades are going to happen... no. Not unless Steve sees his future beyond this season is not with the Suns. I do think NY and Dallas are the type teams that will go to great lengths to make things happen.

I am trying to remember where _'Antoni's nickname, Pringles came from. I assume it ties in with the potato chips. A little help, please.

Thanks.

Orlando might trade for Nash according to CBS.

Nash, Frye for Nelson, Reddick, Anderson and their 2012 first?

Funny how that little thing looks so much like him.
A math student theorized that a Pringles crisp -- the government wouldn't allow them to call it a potato chip because it consists of only 40% potatos -- looks like an infinity sign.

Does that mean that _'Antoni is endless -- on and on and on and on? :)

By CBS you mean Ken Berger and by might trade you mean would have interest if the Suns decided to trade him.

That would make no sense. Nelson and Reddick combine for $14M next year.

Getting rid of Frye's contract would be nice, but I am really not sure paying Reddick and Nelson $14M next year is worth it. Orlando just doesn't have anything to trade. No expiring contracts, and no young talent.
