I hope to get a TV that never leads me to

Good luck with that. Technology keeps getting smaller and smaller. I wanted the service manual for my Hitachi too. Having that stuff is fantastic.

(from what I am gathering, some of the units have minor mirror calibration issues during shipping, and that adjustment puts them back where they were supposed to be.)

When you had your issues, did you ever get the service manual and do the geometric adjustment steps? That seemed to solve the problems of a few people with the pincushioning.

Curious if you tried it and it didn't work.

Sure did. Nothing could be done. I did it, and I had a certified techician come to the house and do the same thing. No dice.

Interesting.

Was it hard? (thinking ahead, here). :D

Nah, there was a combination I had to type into the remote. I don't remembr what it was. I know I had to use the SQV key, and a 5 digit number.

I can find it out for you if you need it.

Oh, and I still have my remote for my old TV, I bet that it didn't change much. My brother didn't want it. Let me know if you decide to keep the TV, and you want the remote. I bet it works for all but the most advance functions.

Replaced Unit has none of the same problem.

And the visuals are just freaking sick. Sick sick sick sick sick. Madden on the X360 is ridiculous (I have it running at 1080i...I didn't realize it would run that high before).

Plus, my surround sound hasn't been working well going through the switcher...now that it is all direct connected, surround sound is awe-some again. We were watching Carnivale and the surround kicked in and I actually looked around wondering where the sound was coming from. Thank GOD that switcher is gone!!

Man, if you knew how yellow that other TV was, you'd know how restrained I'm being.

This feeling I have is kind of like how it felt the first time I cupped boob.
Feels like a bag of sand, right? Good times.

It's one of those feelings that you can't actually describe, but you know from that point on that your life will never be the same.

Yes, yes, opposite of end of the spectrum is when you take a hit in the family jewels for the first time.

Hmm, I'll have to think of when I've had that same feeling before. It may take a bi......

Yep, that was the feeling.

Ah yes.

ASFN housekeeping matter:

I am glad that Russ' thread about Muslim prayer cubicles seems to set the precedent that there is no such thing as thread hijacking anymore.

Frankly, I'm shocked when threads are NOT hijacked.

After seeing what HDTV really should look like on this picture, I'll be seriously considering an HDDVD player soon enough, i fear. Or at least an upconverting player.

An HDDVD player is an upconverting player. :)

the 5 free movies that they are offering now, have been updated, and you have a much better selection.

BTW, I didn't realize the X360 HD DVD player was so cheap...179. That's like half the price of the stand alones isn't it?

I know this is late, especially since you have one, but the A2 has been seen @ Walmart for $198. Great deal.
