I hope this movie is a gloriously stupid as the trailers make it look. Gotta just lean all the way in on something like this. Worked like gangbusters for the latest Kong v. Zilla flick.

Saw that trailer open on a rodeo,...then bull riding....and in my head I'm like..."hell yeah! Now THAT'S a Twister!"

At my niece's school recently, they had a play of The Wizard of Oz. When the twister was hitting the house, the lights dimmed, and some adults dressed in black spun the house around. Really cool effect and then a student in a cow outfit ran by mooing... Got a good chuckle and was very reminiscent of Twister.

My only hope for this movie is that it's an audio masterpiece. I'm really glad to see that this is a WB and not a Disney release. Twisters have so much potential for a really cool Atmos mix. You can get objects spinning around the room and going to the ceiling to match the action. The tornado scene in Finch is great for it and one that I use to demo.

I hope this movie totally leans into the ridiculous. Can’t see it being watchable if it takes itself seriously, in any way, shape or form.

Twister, Matrix were the first two DVDs I bought.

I remember bringing Twister DVD home and looking at my huge VHS collection and saying, "Ooooohhhhhhhhhhhhh fudge." Only I didn't say fudge.I said THE word, the big one, the queen-mother of dirty words, the "F-dash-dash-dash" word!

I’m debating on upgrading to the 4K, it’s supposed to be a fantastic remaster.

I’m pleasantly surprised, but to be honest, not that surprised. The original was a massive hit, Glen Powell’s star wattage is burning really bright after Top Gun 2, Anyone But You’s bewildering box office success and a legitimately great performance in Hitman which owned Netflix’s top ten for about 3 weeks. Not to mention it got solid reviews (79% on RT) and the trailer for this just looked like big dumb escapist fun.

Even more… I’m really happy to see the summer movie experience continue to bounce back from a truly awful May start out of the gates, box office-wise. Since then, the theaters have been mostly en fuego and we’ve still got the biggest tentpole to come next week. In a strike effected lineup this year, it gives me a tiny bit of hope that the movies aren’t quite dead yet at the theater, even if we’re only delaying the inevitable for a little bit.

I am desperately awaiting the LCD windshield to be standard in cars. So you can sit in your car and stream movies... just like you were at a drive in theater..
we had a drive in attempt to reopen here in town during covid but it did not last long.

I guess I'm just not seeing what you're seeing when it comes to Glen Powell.

Horror movies are the best at drive ins...
Right at the tense moments, some dark stranger walks past your window.....really adds ambience to the experience

I guess I'm just not seeing what you're seeing when it comes to Glen Powell.

Powell’s star wattage was just one of many reasons I expected this to open huge along with nostalgia for the OG, and a great marketing campaign.

Also, it’s not like I’m some big Powell honk. He didn’t fully win me over until Hitman. Have you seen it yet? That’s a legit movie star performance and sold me on him. He’s absolutely great in it. But judging by Anyone But You’s bizarre success, looks like the rest of the movie going public bought in hard after Top Gun 2.

I’m looking forward to him taking on The Running Man remake next. I wonder if they stick closer to the book, which was MUCH different than Arnold’s cheese-stuffed classic.
