Becauses NOBODY was going to give us that for Ryan Anderson.
Then we don’t need Tyler Johnson!

This isn’t about the players, they both suck horribly and wouldn’t make it on the court for most G league teams.

But for the extra $$ they are taking on, Suns should have gotten a 1st rd pick for it.

That is simply INCORRECT. Yes, Tyler Johnson isn't a world beater, but he's better than Ryan Anderson, that's for SURE. And probably better than at least Troy Daniels and Dragan Bender.

They can’t Booker down for remainder of the season (at least not yet) when he will be partaking in the All Star weekend activities.

Not bad, not good. I don't dislike Johnson. Maybe he gets a good amount of playing time and his agent convinces he can get a good long term contract so he'll opt out. It's unlikely to happen but who knows. He won't make $19 million anywhere else but it would be more about long term stability if he opted out. If he believes he can get $10-12 million a year for 4 years. Some players just want to play and value that. I don't think that will happen with him but there is more hope there than Ryan Anderson's rotting corpse.

No he’s not. His #s this season speak for themselves. It’s comparable to Knight, Canaan, Mike James etc.

Read the tweet, MS. He says it in his last sentence.

The thing is, Anderson could have been an expiring contract as well.

The difference, Johnson is a better expiring contract that can help the Suns now and next season.

Also the Heat can buyout Anderson for less money than Johnson which helps them financially.

That doesn't matter. Players have participated in the 3pt shootout who had been injured up to that point and after. I don't think he'll be shutdown completely but Booker playing in the 3pt contest has no bearing on whether we shut him down.

Typical Suns trade these days. Trading players of modest-to-no value for other players of modest-to-no value, who move the needle not one whit.

You know your team is in the bottom dregs of the league when these are the biggest kinds of deals they are in on.

Ellington could be a chip in a bigger deal.

Ellington can't be traded in a package deal. The only way the Suns can trade him is if he's traded alone or with picks, not other players.

But that's not what we were discussing. We were discussing his tweet that correctly says that next year Johnson will be an expiring contract. Yes, Ryan Anderson would have been one as well. But it is a fact that Johnson would have infinitely more interest around the league as an expiring than Anderson would have.

Johnson can play point guard next to Booker which should help.

I don't hate this. TJ is a legitimate NBA player and Ellington is a solid shooter. It's not a huge move, but I think it's a good move for the Suns.

This is why I used the word "better."

Tyler Johnson is definitely better than Ryan Anderson.

Do you go out of your way to make statements like that?

Ryan Anderson is so bad he is not playing on the Suns not because we tank but because he is worse than even Bender.

How can you compare another Wing with a Power Forward? Getting rid of Anderson would be good. But for still another Wing?

As someone has already posted, it is like rearranging chairs on the deck of the Titanic.

This. Why can't more of you see that? The numbers are right there, and his poor play has been terribly obvious.

everyone should know this by now especially since we have the same case with Oubre already.

And hurts us in terms of our cap space.
