Gosh another center was HUGE need for the Suns. Len can't even play 30mpg while staying healthy.

Chandler is a great veteran signing for this team.

Tyson Chandler and Amare Stoudemire I'd be down for that.

Did I just time travel to 2008? That was my hope back when Amare couldn't guard a tree. But I'd still be down with it. At least this season would be interesting.

A lot is happening right now so I may have missed it but why are yall talking about Amare? Has it been rumored that he's coming back here?

I'm not sure about the fit, how they can afford him, etc. ... But simply from a locker-room, leadership, experience, perspective - This is HUGE

I've been a Mavs fan for the last decade - Chandler is GREAT in the locker room, holds everyone accountable, is a likable guy, team-1st, always plays hard ... Coming off the chaos of last season, getting a veteran like TC is really needed. I think Wright would have been a better fit on the court, but thinking of everything else, maybe Chandler is the right piece?

He is a free agent, we have a need for a PF, he considered us during the season and said he is interested in coming back and he is close with Chandler.

It is just 1+1, makes sense..

If we miss out on Aldridge still a center rotation of Len/Chandler and a PF rotation of Markieff/Amare is a huge improvement over last year.

If Granger can get healthy here we could have a backup frontcourt of Chandler/Amare/Granger.

that front-line would have been the best in the league... back in 2007. but as backups, you can't ask for more than those guys if our magicians in the training staff can work their voodoo on them.

Yea that's the main reason I like it. This team desperately need accountability.

I hope he can keep the Morris idiots in check even if it means smacking them around some.

Also

Chandler and Joe Smith mentoring Len
Granger mentoring Warren
Hornacek mentoring Booker, Goodwin

Earl Watson to work with Bledsoe and Knight. Watson is very highly regarded as a future head coach.

Totally agree - This is the best thing that could happen for both Len and Chandler. Both don't have to play crazy minutes, and Len can learn a lot from Chandler.

Chandler had arguably his best season yet last year and was a top 5 defensive center. Very interesting.

Tyson was 7th in the league last year with 11 technical fouls. D'oh!

I know. Have those words ever been spoken about the Suns before? Not that I can recall in many many years.

All we need now to usher in the end of times is for the Cardinals to finally find someone who can defend tight ends.

I like the move, but Chandler alone won't make the Suns serious playoff contenders. I'm still trying to figure out how they're going to afford anyone else after signing Chandler & Brandon Knight to deals.

2015-2016

Knight - 14 Mil
Bledsoe - 13 Mil
Chandler - 13 Mil
MkMorris - 8 Mil
PJ Tucker - 5.5 Mil
McMorris - 5 Mil
Len - 3.8 Mil
Granger - 2.1 mil
Warren - 2 Mil
Devin Booker - approx 2 Mil
Bullock - 1.25 Mil
Goodwin - 1.16 Mil
Leuer - 1 Mil
Jerel McNeal - 1 Mil (don't even know who this is)

That's almost $73 Million already. The only way to get LaMarcus Aldridge would be through a sign & trade with us sending both the Morri & Bullock or Granger... if they'd even consider that. The projected salary cap is estimated to be around $66.5 Million.

Knight counts only for 6M$ or so until he actually signs.

Chandler won't start at 13M$, it will be around 11M$ maybe slightly less.

Exactly - Also, in 2010-11 when the Mavs signed Tyson Chandler (and were paying him $12 million), he started out the season as the BACKUP to Brendan Haywood. He never complained though; he embraced the open competition and eventually beat Haywood out ...

Believe me - Chandler is the ultimate teammate/competitor. He will not get offended playing less minutes if Len is playing well. Chandler knows nothing is guaranteed - Having Len/Chandler push each other in training camp (and perhaps the next few years) will make both players that much better.

From what I understand, we've been in with Aldridge for 2 hours now. That bodes well.

Suns met Aldridge with Robert Sarver, Lon Babby, Ryan McDonough, Jeff Hornacek, Earl Watson, Tyson Chandler, Eric Bledsoe & Brandon Knight.

But yeah we would move Bledsoe to get him... Notice who is not there? Morri

They're a little busy at the moment. Trying not to go to jail

However I agree that they are the most likely chips to be used in a sign-and-trade for LMA

and here I thought our offseason would be boring

Did we bring in Earl Watson as our backup PG?

I could be on board with that if he's cheap.
