I heard the projected cap was going to be about 70 million, not a huge leap but it will help smooth things a little to the big jump next offseason.

Reminds me of when everyone visited Nash. This team is not ****ing around. No wonder the Suns feel confident.

Lakers just showed everyone what Lamarcus does NOT want to hear in these negotiations. Suns are selling him on things he wants to hear.

Looks like the meeting is over. "Suns feel liek they are still in the mix" doesn't sound too promising.

Suns met Aldridge with Robert Sarver, Lon Babby, Ryan McDonough, Jeff Hornacek, Earl Watson, Tyson Chandler, Eric Bledsoe & Brandon Knight.

Bledsoe isn't going anywhere. Key part of Suns team.

What were you expecting? A contract signed? Lakers being told they're out is not promising for that team.

Aldridge has a couple of meetings left with Texas teams before he's done.

Should come in around $69 Million, but the Luxury is moved up to $81.6. Since the Suns can go over the cap, to resign Knight after the other free agent moves are done.

I am happy about this. Now the skeptic in me initially said mmmm....another aging veteran at the end of his career and injury prone to boot. However, we have a great medical staff and I have always loved this guy.

I can't help but love this signing.

The good thing is that LA doesn't rely completely on athleticism which should make him a productive player for longer while he ages.

For me, landing LA would just be a victory in that the Suns finally convinced a top FA to come to PHX.

Say what you want about McD, but he certainly runs a tight ship. The moves they've made the last few years have almost all come out of nowhere. It's part of the reason I dismiss a lot of the "rumors". Under this regime they've seemed more like misdirection.

The only thing important in all these tweets is the FACTS. Every writer loves to inject their opinion in a line in the tweet, but you just have to blur that out because that means nothing. The writer's opinion that doesn't sound too promising is insignificant.

Like that Lakers tweet from earlier that said something like "LA out of running. It was a 50/50 shot, but it didn't work out" - The only FACT there is LA is out of the running. The 50/50 shot comment was just injected by the writer and is insignificant, and obviously a blatant lie - No way in h*** looking at that roster the Lakers had much of shot, let alone 50/50.

In fact all these "leaning toward", "Darkhorse", saying the odds, etc. by these reporters and writers are all BS. They are not in Aldridge's head - They have no idea which team he is leaning toward or his thoughts on anything.

Imagine you were in Aldridge's shoes and talking w/ all these teams - And a writer who you never spoke with, a media source you've never heard of, is telling the public what you're thinking. It's ridiculous. The media should stay out of trying to predict what another player/person is thinking; they just do it to attract popularity or in the coincidence they project it right, they look credible.

Gambo tweeted the only reason you get Chandler is to get LMA. Hes def connected with Sarver. Something we dont know?

Because 52 mill at the slight chance of signing LMA is dumb.

Though I dont look at it that way. I think its a great signing. Ticks off every box in terms of Defense, Rebounding, Size up front and most importantly leadership.

The thing with Chandler though is his contract is so reasonable (Given the expecting cap) that it is assuming he declines. I mean, look at the #'s he put up last year for Dallas. In the market today, that's definitely a $15-$20 / yr. worthy production (Look at what Amir Johnson just got, at what Millsap just got, at what Jordan will get, Robin Lopez, etc.) ... So even if he's a backup the final 2 years of the deal, it's ok if he's "overpaid" then because he'll be underpaid the 1st 2 years. Although given the Suns training staff and the fact he won't be overworked w/ Len here, he'll still probably be solid the last 2 years.

What does that mean? Is Gambo saying he is confident they are getting LMA or at least they have a shot? Therefore, that's the only reason they signed Tyson?

Not sure what he is saying here.

I think the Suns just did what they had to do in order to get a realistic shot with Aldridge. It's a bit of risk, but the move seems more positively received than anything. TC does provide a lot of what the Suns need and splitting time with Len and mentoring him along the way I think is great for both players. And it will be great to have a respected veteran who has been through the battles. I have no problem with the Suns taking this kind of risk.

The Spurs are probably saying the same thing. "You don't trade Splitter if you aren't getting Aldridge."

Interesting because about 7 minutes after his initial tweet on Chandler, Gambo tweeted the following:

John Gambadoro ‏@Gambo987
Tyson will add Leadership, defense rebounding, toughness and character. And put Morris twins in their place

Both Marc Stein and Sam Amick (very credible) reporting this. Co-contenders with San Antonio. Even if he picks them.....Suns maybe getting their mojo back.

Why does it always have to be the Spurs though? The thought of losing to them makes me cringe.

BTW, I am very happy to see some of these tweets. I hope they're true.

I am with you there. It's freaking Texas. I hate no teams more than the Spurs, Dallas and the Cowboys. Although the Yankees and Lakers are up there too. LOL.

I get hes from Texas (intense rationalization coming up) but hes got one year at a title tops. ANd even then its no sure thing. Then Duncan, Manu, and Pop all likely gone. You going to win multiple chips with Kawahii Leonard? Hes a good player but IMO overvalued because he plays with other stars that allow him to play a role. Well see if he is All NBA once San Antonio is no longer led by Duncan and Pop.

Phoenix? Both are guards are signed for 5 years. Terrific young Center prospect in Len and immediate stud in Chandler - which is important to him as he wants to play PF. And he is THE MAN. Not replacing anyone or filling anyones shoes. The FO and fanbase would be falling over themselves if he came here.

Its gonna suck when he goes to SA. But like Red said, hope is a beautiful thing man.
