lol, loving how fast everyone changed their minds.

Not me. They still suck.. their track record speaks for it's self. This still doesn't wipe away the current lawsuits nor does it change the fact that it is a dumb name with little "innovation". Kudos to them and to the Cards for getting $154 mil out of the whole thing, but it sounds shaky.

I personally don't think UofP will be around in 10 years let alone 20 so... get the money while you can.

Well to start, you should have said "its self". (maybe you should go back to school at UOP?)

Quick, please send me a list of universities that have gone out of business in the last 10 years. I have some free time, so I want to compare them to UOP.

Ok smartass maybe you should read the lawsuits that are currently set against them and tell me what exactly will happen once they are unable to be an accredited university.. thus being bankrupt from all the money they will be on the hook for.

I don't need to. I have good friends that work there. I know what's going on.

Your first sentence is a run-on. Maybe you should go to UOP?

Why exactly are you worrying about the finances of the UOP?

Nothin' like correcting someone's spelling error with another spelling error.

Well, actually it wasn't a "spelling" error. But nonetheless, if you don't know how to use your apostrophes, maybe you shouldn't be ripping on a University.

Do I really need to explain why? Are you seriously not getting the point here? YOUR BUDDIES JOB IS GETTING SUED FOR RUNNING A FRAUD! Hey it's nothing personal against any particular employees but to try to trash my education level to defend this ripoff is laughable at best.

So this "fraud" is buying the naming rights to the best stadium in the US. Okay, you must know more than me. I guess you can start the new post of the "next name of Cardinal's Stadium".

I will sit and wait patiently for my list of Universities that have gone out of business in the last 10 years.

Don't know why I'm doing your work for you, but from my database of over 3,900 college and universities (four-year and two-year) from the U.S., Canada, and some select international schools, I've got 167 of them. Do you want the list?

Sure.

I really don't care though. I think the name sucks too.

But, some of the reasons for disliking the name sounded really dumb.

You know, if those are the numbers, going with a University is brilliant. That's about a 95% success rate. Compare that to other industries.

Who really cares what the name of the stadium is. As long as the Cardinals are getting their money is all that matters. Now they no longer have any excuse to say that they can't compete because of lack of funds.

And, although I understand your point about the success rate, I'm not sure we're comparing apples to oranges. This is a corporate-owned entity, and I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing when it comes to success in education.

The U. of Phoenix is a different kind of animal in the academic world.

I don't mind the name. In this day of spin, the stadium naming rights may give more creditability to the school since the stadium is tangible.

And in a way, the University of Phoenix has the Arizona Cardinals as their football team. :D

How about... the team known as the Phoenix Arizona Cardinals.

I think it has some potential. The fans just need to defragment this in their mind.

Exactly, it’s a private school. I guess I just don’t understand the statements regarding the bottom line of UOP. Clif, do you follow business in the phoenix area? I’m not sure what you have heard about the UOP lawsuit, but it will not materially affect their profit. This school is making major bucks.

I disagree with you regarding them being out of business in 10 or 20 years, but I guess time will tell. Clif, were you kicked out of their school or something?
